Raced a bike in the Iroc

Just the other day I was out cruising around when some guy on a bike pulled up behind me. I think it was a harley of some sort but I don't know much about bikes. It looked nice and was loud.

Anyway, I went right on red onto this 2 lane straight away and he followed me out and tried to pass me. I stomped on it in Drive and to my suprise he couldn't pass me until 105 or so when my car seemed to cut out at around 3500 to 4000 rpm. think it may be governed in third, but in OD i have hit 130's

I shifted into OD and got up to 115 when we both shut down. He only put a car length on me and my 89 L98 has only headers, and a 3inch catback. Oh and K&N's with stock tranny and 2.77 rear with 140K on the clock. I never ran her at track but thinking low 14's. I guess it wasn't a fast bike but it was sweeeet.

A stock low rider is in the high 13 to low 14 second range. Now being a Harley it could have been anything from a full bagger Electraglide, to a lightweight sportster. So they weight of the bike has alot to do with it since their are only a few motors in the lineup. Take away his advantage off the line and its a tight race.

Musta been a harley. My CBR goes from 40mph to 130 quicker than it would take him to realize the race started.

yup.

imagine if the upgrades for the small block chevy stopped at the 283 back in the 50s.

and imagine if the cars were also as big and heavy as back then.

thats harleys. 100% all american.... slow, heavy and nothing to them but shiny chrome....but they cant change **** because if they did, people would complain.

you know, it took them until 2001 to put a damn counterbalancer on the motor?! ever see the massive motor shake at idle... yea, thats why.

Vtwins kickass... slowness doesnt. i jsut wish buell would wakeup and stick the new Vrod motor in his bikes.. then they wouldnt suck to drive in cool weather. (i ride year round)
