92 Talon Turbo Vs. 87 Iroc

The talon is FWD turbo. It has a boost controller, intake, and exhaust. Its a manual.

What do you guys think, can he beat me?
What does it take to get one of those into the 12's?

You should take him, I had a 93 eclipse turbo fwd and it ran somewhere in the low 15's stock, now if that boost controller means he has the boost increased in some way you may be in trouble. I did a boost bypass mod on mine and it gave me 3 more psi on the turbo and I cut like .3 off my quarter so if he has any extra boost you might have a problem. Oh and it really doesnt take much to get those cars in the 12's if they can get traction I have seen guys with just upgraded turbos, intercoolers, and oil coolers knock down low 13's spinning for the first 30 feet or so. Good Luck.

dont disgrace us and lose, cheat or something, but you gotta win, go get some race gas and take out the back seats and the spare tire.

with just the fwd and not the awd he will have major problems hooking up if he is even making resonable power. so if you dont spin and get a good launch and he dosent have major boost you should take him.

Race gas alone is useless and a waste of time if you do nothing else. The only reason to run race gas is to increase the timing. Even then, there is only so far you could go.

After talking to the guy some more, he showed me his time slips. His best pass was a 13.62
Thats not bad...I think Im gonna have my hands full.
On the good hand, he wants to sell the car.
He said I could pick it for for $2500. 88k miles. I just might take him up on the offer. I need a car that gets good gas mileage to go back and forth to school in.

Race him anyway, but be prepared for a loss. With your mods, I highly doubt you're running that fast.

the FWD is faster if he knows how to drive, i juat raced my friends 1990 turbo with my 305 and lost by like a fender...he has all the free mods but thats about it, those cars can be really fast for a 4cyl with not alotta money so they are an alright car....although i'm not a big fan of FWD

WE RACED
It went down a couple nights ago..I forgot to post.
We didnt bet any money..because we knew the race would be close.
We raced on a old road that has a .25 mile marked off.

We lined up..and went when someone turned on a flash light.
I got him outta the hole. He spun pretty bad. I pulled on him in 1st through 3rd. WHen I shifted into 4th he started to gain on my. I dont know how fast we were going..I just watched my rpms. I edged him out by half a car at the end of the .25mile.
If He woudlnt have spun..we prob. would've been neck and neck.

BTW, I could hear his freakin turbo howling the whole time. It sounds radd.
