Chrysler Crossfire

Anybody know what those new Crossfires have in them and what they run. My g/f's moms co-worker has one and he is talking all kinds of mess about how he would spank my camaro and how he would keep up with my girlfriends lightly modded Ls1.

the SRT-6 is the same as the SLK32 AMG, so mid 13s should be expected.

Is the SRT-6 out now or is it coming out next year? If not then this guy has the crappy v6 right? If he does have the slow one I am going to kick him square in the nuts for being stupid.Lol.

Exactly and the regular Crossfire is a SLK320....they are the same car with a body change....think of it like the F-bodies.....

Nope my car is not running yet I am waiting for my carb and distributor to come in the mail. I will hopefully be running high 13's but even if I were in the 14's the supercharged version hasnt come out yet so he has the N/A v6 and with those numbers he cant be running better than high 15's. The point of the matter is that because the guy paid a ton of money for it he thinks it has to be faster than my pos. But I will hold off on kicking him in the nuts for now.

Well hes not exactly a boy, hes 40 but he still needs to see some tail lights. I am trying so hard to get my car running but none of my parts have come in. Its killing me. And even then i dont know when Ill have the thing in racing condition. Hey Warbird are you gonna come to the Houston gathering next month? Id love to see your car it looks like a sweet setup.

just curious these parts you are waiting on are essential for the car to run (it's torn down in pieces) or are they just some extra goody bolt ons? if you've got a good running, mild 350 in your bucket you should be able to run 13-14 flat without a problem. thats SRT6 territory and they aren't out yet. the non blower one only runs 15s, show him whats up.

When and where? If I'm off work I'll be there. I work shift work, so it's tough to get to the fun stuff.

Well I actually tore the car completely down about 5months ago and have been putting it together peice by piece since then. i put a new 350 in it(specs in sig). and now all I am waiting for is my carb a fuel pressure regulator because I am going from tbi to carb. This motor should easily put out 300hp and a ton of torque. Super chevy did the exact same build with camel humps and a qjet with less compression and made 340hp and 417 tq but thats just motor with out accessories so I figure I can at least pull 300 with my ported 416's.
Oh and WARBIRD theres a thread in the south central region board about the meet. I think its july 10th at a public park but we are still tryin to get things worked out. It would be cool if you made it but I understand about work. I still dont know what my situation is going to at that time.

They'll run a real high 14 to real low 15s from what I've seen in reviews and such. Not terribly bad but certainly not some kind of *** kicking performance car, especially not in this day and age with mid/high 14 second accords and maximas, etc...

Assuming you run no worse than your old 14.6 time you should beat him soundly, especially if he doesn't have the proper launch technique and such down...

if you're putting 270 down to the ground and can hook it up, even the SRT6 shouldn't be too much of a problem for you. more compression = more torque and more torque = more HP so I think you can probably do similar to hot rods build with yours with accesories on. I mean come on they were using a quadraleak only qualm I've got with your build is that cam seems way too small to me!

Yeah there engine had 9:4:1 compression and I have 9:6:1 so I have the advantage there, I also have better carb, but because I dont have any flow #'s on my heads I have to assume that they flow a little less than the stock 461 camel humps(just to be convservative). So I think I have a little over 300 hp and at least 390 tq at the fly. And yeah I defenetly think my cam is a little small but I want something that would give me awesome torque and streetability and something that would match my small intake runner/combustion chambers. I think this combo is gonna work out real well with a nice flat torque curve.
