350 gets a few kills, 01 WS6, 04 SRT-4, 01 SS
Four stories:
1. My buddies 2001 WS6 Trans Am. After we left from the race track we both get on the interstate and slow down to about 30 MPH. We down shift and wait and then I give the 3 honks. He got a nose jump on me, then I rev up, shift and squeel 2nd and I am dead even with him. By the end of second, his nose is on my tail and 3rd puts another car on him and so does 4th. We shut down after redlining 4th which is about 135 mph. His car is all top end power. I have driven it at the track and it pulls hard on the top, but is an absolute DOG on the low end. He claims it is some kind of SLP package.
Here are his mods:
SLP Flow pack kit (Lid,underbox ram air,elbow)
WS6 Ram Air Hood with removed baffles
High Flow mass air sensor
All free mods
SLP loudmuth exhaust (sounds great)
T-56 SLP shifter SPEC 3 clutch, lightweight flywheel
Fully tuned computer

2. Some guy in a 04 SRT-4. He had at least a BOV cause it swooshed louder than crap. We went from a roll at about 30 again. We give the three honks and I immediately pull a car on him, then two,three,four. I was pulling him hard and then I shut down at about 115. I could hear him shifting and the BOV everytime. He asked if I was just motor cause he said I peeled them in every gear. Yes, even fourth. I have killed the stock ones before by a crap load so I know he wasn't stock, and I think he has the new 230 horse one.
3. A 2001 SS black 6 speed. Driving through town I usually don't race, but this "kid" (looked 16-17) was asking for it. He had his hat sideways with his ghetto style 13 year old girlfriend and he kept reving at me, so I know he had exhaust. We slowed right into my power band ( about 35 mph in 1st) and punch it. I pull away from him quick and only make it to 2nd gear then I have to slam on my brakes do to traffic. He had the "Noooo Monica" look on his face as I pulled away from him.
4. Last is not a kill but it was a tie/got inched. It was a 2002 Viper GTS. I was on the Interstate and this older guy passes me doin about 90, so I catch up. Once we are side by side at about 85, I downshift into 4th and punch it. ( should have gone into 3rd) His car gave the sweet "Viper V10" sound as it revved up, and we are dead even as my car is trying to pull from 3500 in fourth. We stay Dead even until I redline fourth(again about135) and have to go into 5th. ( I hate the .63 overdriven 5th, feels like 6th to me.) He starts to inch away from me, and I do mean INCH. It was fun but I had the stock worn springs still on my car and it can get a little scary going over 120 riding the highway like waves in a boat, if you know what I mean.
I usually don't street race unless it is a cocky LS1 guy,or a Vette,Viper, 03 Cobra, SRT-4, Mach1, Supercharged GT/LT1 etc.
