My friend has a 99 mustang. It was a v6 auto, and he bought a used 98 4.6 motor, and 02 t-45 5pd tranny to drop in. Well, He did the swap, and has had it running for about a month now. He has pulleys, PI intake, BBk X pipe, Mac flowpath cat back, and ported plenum.

Well anyway, he came over today, and we were talking about cars as usual, and he asked if I wanted to run him, so of course i am willing to do so. Yes I knew i was going to get stomped, as I know what modular motors are capable of. (I helped him swap the driveline)

So we Line up, and from a dig, He pulls on me right away, By 60 i shut down and he was, well, far ahead.

Then we went from a 20 mph roll, and I faired alittle better, but not by much. I shut down at about 60 again, because it was useless to stay in it.

It was fun to watch the car he put alot of money and sweat into, run like mad.

Did he do a PI swap? or use the motor as is?

Tell him to grab some 99+ heads and intake and put them on that 98 motor and he'll gain 35-45HP instantly. You can grab them used pretty cheap. The 98's higher compression will actually make more HP with these heads and intake than the 99-04's came with.

 

well considering your 1/4 time is still accurate wouldnt a 99 v6 stang stomp you also? lol but good racing and beat them ricers

 

No, I beat his stang when it was v6 auto.

Yes he did a PI intake swap. You could honestly feel the diff with that.
