why do people do this

why do people pull up to me and want to race when there is snow and ice on the ground? a couple of weeks ago i was driving somewhere with my lady friend and a older mr2(i think) pulled up next to me. He wanted to race. i was on a nice sheet of ice and he knew it because he wacthed me slide to a stop. he was sitting there bouceing it off the rev limiter(well i think it was the rev limiter. the car sounded like it ran like crap). so i took it up to about 3k and dumped the clucth for a second. Broke the tire loose(damn peg leg rears). rear end slid about a foot away from his car. He stopped for a minute then started reving again. so i just said screw it waited for the light. when i chagned i got on it. did nothing but roll the tires over. for about 1/2 a block till the ice ended. by that time he was about 5 cars ahead so i just said screw it backed out of it. i pulled up to him at the next light and he was laughing his *** off. i talked to someone later that night whom he knew and he had told him that he had just walked all over a camaro. i told them that I was on a patch of ice and couldn't get any tracktion. I can only imagin the high horse the guy was on becuase he walked all over me. it seems like the only time people want to race is when there is snow and ice is on the ground. why do people act like this. it is like they have to use that toward there advantage. when it is dry out i will race anyone. i don't care if i win or lose. i just like the rush i get when i race.

8. why do people act like this.
1. some people dont have any brains in thier heads and think its okay to race in any condition...

2. right there you should have just looked at him and laughed ....

3. well you started it by egging him on by spinning your tires on the ice....

4. how smart do you think it is to say screw it and race someone on the ice??

5. i would have been too but for different reasons..

6. DUH!!!!

7. sounds like your one of them too...

8. like what ?? you were the one that kept the race going when he pulled up and reved his engine like that ......you should have just laughed and been the mature one and drove off slowly and not worried about it .....

I dont know what you think you were accomplishing by racing on ice but it wasnt the smartest thing to be doing in the first place i dont care who instigated what it was silly to be doing that in the first place your lucky you didnt end up in a bad wreck or dead or even worse killing someone else and thier family ....

I have to agree, not the smartest thing to do. Just let them have their fake race and you can just drive normally!

Especially dumb with a lady friend in the passenger seat !

What part of the state are you in? I'm in Lincoln currently, and there isn't really any snow left from the last bit we got, and I really don't see any ice up here. Anyways, just let any and all people who rev up against you think they're cool. Put something with a healthy cam in and they're all scared stiff. My brother couldn't get a person to race him up here, they all just stopped three feet behind his passenger side door.

I'm in North Platte for now. Trying to get the hell out of here. There isn't much left here eaither. just some spots here and there. I don't usally do anything to agg them on with snow and ice but I am just getting fed up with it. I has happened ever since i have gotten the car. 3 years of the and it gets old. i wish i could get my winter driver going so I can park the RS so i don't have to worry about that and trying not to wreck the thing like I about did on sunday.

know what you mean. a couple of summers ago had a jetta try to race when it was pouring rain. he pulled up to me and tried i didn't take the bait because i knew what the out come would be. eaither i would lose it and hit him or jump the curb and screw my car up.

I see ..the whole racing on Ice thing...thinking with the wrong head ..can't get any if your dead.

But anyway ...I get idiots trying to run in the worst conditions...mostly Suv's /trucks.not worth getting hurt....Im figure let them have there couple days of glory, when the other 300 odd days of the year they get a nice view of my bumper.

If you start letting women tell you what to do, then you'll be a slave and she will make you sell your car hehehehe

I also don't have a wife or a g/f so it may not be good to take my advice.

Same reason people cheat. (like on Unreal Tournament..grr [sorry])

They dont have the ability to win fairly, so they make every effort to win no matter how slanted the playing field.

well at times i feel like a slave. but i know that if i don't want to do something for her then i won't do it also. and i will never sell the RS if a woman wanted me to. The 83 z28 on the other hand is a different story i could really car less about it. it was just a donar car that some day I hope to make a little different.

put some studs in your tires and call it a day. go out and have some ice fun....

a studded 2wd s10 goes great in the snow. for real. studs do help.
