Im so close to not even bothering to go out anymore with these dumb kids.

Well I go out for my shinanigans last night about 3:00am. Cruise around for 30 minutes and nothing is happening. Go to the gas station and top off the car and plan to head home and I see this white neon with a bunch of ***** ground effects on it and some sort of body kit. I drive by it since its in the parking lot and give it a rev (it wasn't parked, just looked like he was looking for something in the car on the way out). Anyways, I turn left and get into a left turn lane and the light goes green and im taking off normal and this guy was behind me at the light and he goes WOT and im driving normal so this buzzing fart can goes by me and I nail it after he has about 2 cars on me and the minute he sees me catching up.....hazards. How ****in gay man. This ******* knew I was gonna take his ***, we hadn't even gone to 45, and he gives me the ***** international sign of victory. I pull up to the guys window and theirs two 15 year old looking dudes and I raise my hand up and go, "WTF was that?! Let me know when you wanna graduate out of those diapers for a real ride."

Its just not as much fun anymore =/. If it ain't fly bying, its the ***** international sign of victory.

The street and cruising scene really has been ruined in the past years. I am not that old (28), but it seems like the younger generation has totally lost sight of what power is. they honestly think their 4 cylinders are the fastest things out there, and I guess you can't blame them since these cars are what they grew up with. The generation gap is certainly a factor, since kids today are more arrogant and spoiled than ever. I know there are some decent young kids who like real cars, so no offense to them.
I worked with a kid who spent $2k on some used VTEC motor from japan, and when my C2500 truck (with 412,000 on the odo) blew him away, he finally understood why we make fun of him.
I'd bet most of the import kids have never been in a fast (12 second or quicker) car. Of course the Hollywood stuff screwed us all. I gave up cruising years ago and focused on drag racing. a lot more maturity (most of the time) and more enjoyment.
Now that I vented, I just want to say I feel your pain.

Its almost unbearable the amount of stupidity you see on the streets anymore. Its much more enjoyable to go to the racetrack, where everyone is serious about it.

You're right, 92droptop,

The "Slow & Curious" movie has provided a great disservice to the young generation.

How bad did you pull on him? If we're talking about a pretty much stock neon besides the fart can, you were probably gaining on him hard.

What a wuss.

When I got my camaro, I thought it was the fastest thing around...when I joined TGO I realized it was um...slow. When I got to drive my dads e55 amg for the first time (12.4 1/4) I realized the what "real" power is. Big diff 15sec car and 12sec car. I can picture what a 9-10sec car must be like...But then again my motorcycle is scary fast...So I guess it's all relitive. Power to weight ratio and traction. People are just under-informed, that's all. My good friend just took out a lease on a honda, cost him $16000! He says "I want to make it fast"...My camaro cost $2900...The things I could do to it for $13000....

The Slow and Luxurious really did ruin the street racing, but come on guys don't tell me you don't like seeing 10 of these import guys in a parking lot and rolling in with Pantera in the background and asking for a race? They all give you the evil eye and there is always that one guy that has the best VTEC money can offer so he agrees and you take him to the secluded road and totally own his *** and humiliate him in front of his friends.

I went from racing for money in the 90's to racing for fastest car status in 00. All my old gear head buddies got married and settled down so I am on my own nowadays. I have even had one friend tell me he can't ride in my car because his wife says it is too fast and dangerous and she thinks he won't come home to see his kids graduate highschool after going somwhere with me
I am not some ****** sporting dumbass either, and I drive very nice on the street but I do have some loud loud exhaust.

The only thing that even gives me that old addictive adrenilen (Spelling) rush anymore is the bikes, it is hardly fair of them to want to race but you take what you can get around here.

I do get the occasional legit gear head with an old musclecar wanting to race but they seem to have more mild rides than mine since they have to drive to my town without an OD tranny. I did race a 70 or 71 cougar a year ago that had a 455 olds engine that was pretty hot that was running a 200 shot of NX that I did end up beating since he could not grab traction and had road gears.

Anyway I'll stop rambling, street racing is a whole new playing field with this new generation of import lovers, I have yet to find one that actually had a fast car or knew what he was talking about but I'm sure the day will come when me and the Stu'ster race.

Its not so much that, I do it because sometimes I run into a guy from the fox body crowd and thier pretty cool, they will give you the thumbs up if you win and more importantly, don't do that hazards or fly by crap. The fourthgen crowd here are a bunch of rich college students, every now and then you find a diamond in the rough that is pretty cool. I've been beaten by a couple 5.0's here in town, one running nitrous and their the ones that will pull into the gas station with you and have a cool chat with you and compliment your ride. These damn ricers get on my nerves.

If you guys truely believe that the way things are today is because of a movie, either you've got something to learn, or I fear for the human race.

C'mon Stu, you probably remember when you were younger and had your parents car(big old boat or small import car) and wanted to race the fast car in your town.

I will admit, I did that ('80 ford LTD) vs. porsche, '86 IROC and so on.

But now I have respect , and only race what I think I am close to. If I lose, I don't disrespect and do the flyby, now that I see your car in your sig, I understand your reply.

I'm not saying I was never a *****, I was. Just about every high school kid is, including most people on here.

All that is, is the delicate stage right before you actually know what you are talking about. This is the stage where you want to learn, but are too impatient to actually put the time/money up to be fast. So, like a young, clueless kid, you jump the gun and blow all your money on things that you think would be cool, as opposed to things that actually are.

I disagree stu. I live out in "the sticks." Dead center middle of IL. There were none of these all show pieces of crap floating around with wings and fart tubes a few years ago. Sure, it was already making its start, and popular in a lot of areas. But once that crappy movie came out, it all exploded everywhere. I cant even go to the gas station without seeing some kid in a stock escort with a fart cannon hanging off the back bumper. Or seeing neons with the one off-center stripe going down the middle, that was put on with autozone decal stripe kits. To them, if its loud its fast. Its sad really, but it does make for some fun times when they rev those little POS's at me or some of my buddies at the stoplights.

The ***** image was around quite a while before the movie came out...the movie was targeting a specific group and it worked...could it have added fuel to the fire?....without a doubt...
Its an image..its not hot-rodding...I respect anybody that works on their car to increase performance/and apperance as well...regardless of its make/model or year..
But this ***** thing, all the people driver them have that pants around there knee's/little swagger walk to them , like their in a gang or something...which not to get racist or offend anybody but its all the rage over recent years for white boys to act like black gangsters...and I think this is a big product of it...shiny rims and lights/and lowered chasis... just like rapper x does with his ride...
If Nelly/50 cents/Ja-rule started driving around pumped up pick up trucks ..you would be seeing that all over the place...its all an image.

I had a young gear head friend that had a 69 Chevelle with a 327 and powerglide that I helped put in a 700r4 and a 427 in, anyhow all his buddies that used to come over and ask me thousands upon thousands of retarded questions about cars now drive imports, nothing wrong with it but they def got the image going they see me and wave but the funny thing is they got reallly into car audio and the small local town put in a sound ordiance because of the problem with those guys and there kicker L7's (sheesh they all had at least a 15")

Shoudn't have taken too long to reel in a Neon with an Lt1 car, sounds like you're getting a bit rusty Pasky
But really, imports and 4bangers aree kinda like the wave of the performance future. I've seen more swapped hondas lately than I care to ever see in my life (in the last 7 days I've gotten beaten by two different GSR powered hatches, and one turbo.). Given, I don't drive a mighty V8 car, but people who know me can tell you that my little car does ok at the track. The only way for us to contend is either, lose about 300 lbs each, or drop in a bunch of LS1's (or go heads/cam on these cars). I know this much, after my heads go on, I'm gutting this car from everything but the front seats and carpet.

Thats the thing, I was coming in fast, he started two cars ahead of me because I didn't think he'd try to fly by, I was still in first, I got to the middle of second when he flashed his hazards. Bastard just wanted a cheap win. Like I said, we never went above 45mph.

Heh, that was pretty funny, fast server too, about 300KB/sec. Hawaii is a funny place for street cars -- herds of imports, lots of domestic 12-13 sec V-8s, a few 9 sec and quicker licensed street cars.

I don't think you can blame the "hazards" on the fast and the furious. That was the symbol for race over long before that movie. I know it has been around since at least the mid eighties (probably before that) The crews that traveled around S. Jersey used it all the time. It was a way of telling the loser that the race was over. It limited the amount of fly bys at 130 mph.

i got an idiot friend that does that crap just to mess with people. he knows hes slow and has a corrolla and its normal he not trying to race it but he like to pass me and my friends in out faster cars and put on his hazards. so far he hasnt had the chance to do it to me cause i just dont let him by. he hasnt done it in a while. i was once with him on the way to a car show and was behind this drag car smelling really rich and had big ol tires and everything. well we get the crazy idea to pass him and see if he goes. well the guy was smart and didnt even look once at us. just kept his own thing up. so we did it to a iroc twice. and did the hazards. then the dude just took off and we left. i know if i ***** did that crap to me when i wasnt even trying to race i would chuck a rock at him out my window.

im so glad to hear this ,imports BLOW.i grew up when you could go to the car lot and still buy a rear wheel drive car,v8,at the least 250 horse, with 4 or 5 speed.as little as 7 years ago, there was none of these FART CANNON,body kit(got to say body kit, makes it super fast)imports around.like you guys said, until the friken movie came out.where i live out of say 100 kids,i did convert 1 kid.he drove a honda accord, now he,s got a 84 camaro,358 small block,373 gears, and so on.he told me that he cant belive he WASTED so much money on a honda.this summer,he,s going to go to the drag strip with us.he said he wants to go in the 11,s.because the best he could do in a honda was 15 flat.kinda cool i think,he found out THE IN THING ,aint always better.muscle cars WILL MAKE A COME BACK,this is a fad,and fads go away, look at the guys that use to fix up chevy vans,it didnt last long.next few years belong to chevy, ford dodge, muscle .

The way I see it it's already begun. The new domestics hitting the market are hotter than ever, and people are starting to associate import tuning with skinnys with plastic bling. Much like the body kits on so many hondas out there, r!ce is beginning to fade and crumble away...

Yep. I try to stay away from the morons, besides being slow, I don't want one of them trying something like that stunt in the second one coming head on or trying to make me crash.

As well, I know good people the movie has corrupted. I had a friend in H.S. who spent a lot of money restoring a '69 Camaro. Anyway it still sits undone as he watches F&F *** knows how many times now. Got all excited with the "noss" sounds (Hit "noss" whenever. Idling? Hit the "noss" button and you'll go fast anyway!). Anyway, he "needs" an import now.

Ah, gotta go watch Two Lane Blacktop to purge the imports from my mind.

yes, the bs **** scene is definetly fading into the sunset.

I moved down to NC from mich about 6 months ago and have only seen 3 ricers in this whole town. but i have about 10 buddies with 5.0 mustangs or the newer style. Im the only chevy guy, but im just happy that people arent falling for that crap like they were 3 years ago when i graduated.

hell, in michigan, it never really did catch on, i had 3 friends with s-10s with 350's, and even a 305 in a rusted out sten will make a honda look like an idiot. the slow and the stupid are definetly going the way of the disco van.

i'm 16 and it kind of sucks for my generation being that there are no real muscle cars today. I'm glad I went with my dad to all of those car shows since I was little to appreciate some real muscle lol. Seems like just when Fast & Furious came out, ricers and whatnot popped up everywhere. all I can say is that there is no friggin way that anything can sound better than a V8. I think with time, this whole subcompact deal will just be a fad hopefully heh

The sound thing is what gets me.. I love the way my car sounds... and most **** just have loudness and slowness... but **** isnt over... domestic companies are just making **** to compensate for sales losses due to lack of 4 banger "race cars" lol .. sorry..
anyway they arent all ****. my best friends srt-4 impressed the hell out of me. its an 04 with limited slip and still launches like crap. but after it stops spinning we go right by mustangs and other stock v-8 cars.. and for the price $19K he paid I dont know what could touch it 2004 model cars anyway at that price..
and I have seen a 12 sec integra and some 240s supras and other imports.. then again there is a difference between imports and ****. my point is I dont always rev at a kitted out ***** and think im going to win, infact I say you never know, but atleast my car will look better even if it looses LOL. there is just too many guys out there that have no clue about anything mechanical trying to be "hot-rodders" back in the day anyone with a loud cammed up muscle car either knew their stuff or said straight out I dont know what its got but 5 grand at the speed shop and its quick..

Car: 86 Camaro
Engine: 5.7 with some mods.
Transmission: 700r4 needs shift kit
Axle/Gears: Stock.
for 19k you can get a used 03 ford mustang mach 1 that will beat the srt-4 if both are stock. but who keeps their car stock nowadays. i watched the srt-4 with bigger blow off valve and 20lbs of boost. with a car and the hit beat an all stock 03 mach 1 but if it was side by side racing the mach would have been even. but soon the mach 1 guy is getting a pro charger and recently the srt-4 guy blew his turbo and is getting a wrx. no yeah the mach 1 will be back in the summer for a rematch.

the r1cer thing is still going across the town by me. theres even some kids that started their own street racing crew calling themselves adrenaline, with adrenaline stickers on their windshields. it seems to be the rich kids that their parents buy them their new cars that get into the ric3r thing. well atleast around by me its like that. and the kids even try calling themselfs a polish mafia because they have money from their parents of course. i hate kids like that.

r1cers gotta go. i can see why people buy inports for the gas milage but when people buy them slow cars and put body kits on them and what not its getting out of hand. slow car that is loud and you can still see the thing after a couple secs going through the intersection just very loud like it was moving fast but not. you guys know what i mean. you know how to really hate on an import, get some powdered milk and pour it in the vents inside the car by the windshield. it will get wet and warm and will stink and they will never beable to get the smell out. its great. then they can sell the car and it will be one less r1cer on the road.

You should really stop posting, every thing you say is stupid. A bigger BOV? Come on, just be quiet already?

Also you do realize that if you sell a car, you sell it to someone else who would drive. Then there is the same amount of cars on the road.

i was thinking if they took off their r1cer crab before they sold it. but who does that, right? well atleast the car wouldnt be by you if they sold it to someone that didnt live nearby. maybe they could junk the car and use it for parts since it reeks and they dont want to smell it?

r1cers are get rid of them. stu i hope you dont own a r1cer. i see its an import but there are rules that seperate a ***** from an import. i know you know them. also to me a r1cer is just another way of saying the person is a flamer. your not one of these are ya stu? i wouldnt think you are since your here at tgo and tgo doesnt allow r1cer/flamer's.

So you're calling me a *** now? Well let me tell you something......Just kidding. Nice try son. You are the worst instagator I've ever seen. You might as well have said, Ri*ers are synonomous with coodies. You don't have coodies do you Stu?

By the way, not everyone is as racist/predjudice as you are, so there is no reason that the board wouldn't allow flamers, and if they didn't you'd be banned a long time ago.

Hey, I just noticed something. If everyone would please take notice of Felix's very own signature, and join me in a hardy chuckle.
