hey my buddy just got a 2001 TransAm manual and what is the best that car can run its bone stock low miles. Im askn cause i want to run him when i get my car back goin but i dont wanna get my A S S handed to me. I got a 91 Z28 i ran 13.9 at the track (stock) im puttn in a comp cam with a 480 lift on intake and exhaust 112 duration edelbrock shorties fuel pressure regulator taken the pressure to about 47 psi and underdrive pulleys got rid of the ac and ported the intake and slightly polished the heads. Will i give him a run?

They can run anywhere from 12.9 to 14.2 stock.

My cousin runs 14.2 and he is a moron. With slicks they hit the mid 12's. I'd guess since its a manual it'll run low 13's.

I think with the cam it will be very close depending on how well he can drive.

My friend had an '01 T/A. His was automatic. His very first trip to the track he clicked off a 13.5 with it. He backed it up the next run with a 13.6.

But then again, i have sadly seen LS1's consistently run mid-14's. It really all depends on the person behind the wheel.

It's not unheard of for a stock LS1 to hit a 12.9. It's not typical, but with a good driver, it has happened.

I think you're going to give him a great run, but I doubt you'll win. It'll be close in my opinion but the TPI runs out of juice up top while the LS1 will still be going like steamed r|ce at an asian buffet.

btw, What gears do you have?

nah man.. If you have a 1991 Z28 350 TPI then you automatically have the G92 package, which means you have 3.23 gears But a 2000-2002 T/A should run low 13s easily with a good driver
