Transmission: automatic 700r4 4speed
Axle/Gears: stock 2.73's :(
wonderin if i could win
my friend has a 88 stang lx 5 speed all stock but i think he said somthing bout hes got a cobra clutch or something other than that his car is all stock my mods are 2.5 flowmaster exhaust high flow cat and an open element nothing big ... is he a threat? and if i loose would this trans-go street/ strip with the corvette servo shift kit help out alot?

If hes stock, it would be close, but you should take him. It will depend on the driving, state of tune and tons of other stuff. If he has gears or anything of the sorts, Id lean towards his car!

why would you assume his car has avette servo? its a motor swap and probably has the 82-86 700r4.

i got a gm goodwrench 350 with the 2.5 flowmaster exhaust with a high flow cat and a open air element wit a 3 inch cowl if that helps

What kind of intake and carb do you have? Its still hard to tell if you will present a challenge! If your 700R4 was mounted to a 305 you need that servo installed its easy to install anyway so put it on. Definitely install the shift kit thats a must. Also get yourself some cheapoo 1.6 stamped rockers because not all stock rockers are 1.5 some have been proven to be smaller like 1.47 which is robbing you some lifted on that already small cam of yours. An in just about every magazine has proven that adding 1.6 rockers will give you 10-15 more hp.

it can all come down to who is a better driver and who doesn't stay in bewteen gears longer.
