Me and my cousin were sitting at the bar tonight and we were talking about our winter progect,which is dropping an LS1 6 spd in my 91 RS.The guy sitting next to us told me when i get my car done he would be more than happy to race me.I asked what he had and he said a 98 firebird with nitrous.Anyway i got his number and told him as soon as im done i'll call him and set up a race.So we leave the bar and i see the guy walking thriugh the parking lot towards his car.I walked over and started talking to him.We were standing there bsing when he told me his car had a 350 with a 5spd in it.I started laughing and told him he was full of crap,so he popped his hood and thought he was gonna shut me up and i started laughing even harder.I told him he was a couple cylinders off from bein a 350 and then he had the ***** to tell me that his car runs low 12's stock and high 10's with nitrous.So my first race when i finish my car is gonna be against a 98 V6 firebird with a 5 speed,and i didnt see any nitrous lines when i was lookin at the motor.I can't wait until March to ace this guy.I know it's a long time away but i'm not even gonna start takin it apart until winter time,i just can't wait to make this guy look stupid.

 

I'll tell you right now that you will NEVER race this guy. People who are chronic liars like that, don't race, just talk.

 

I am going to have to agree with this. I would focus on your swap first before you set up anyone to race. It will take you awhile.

 

You'd have to be pretty drunk not to know the dif between the LS1 and tha base v6, to drunk to drive anyway........

 

LOL that is so true....but some people are just plain idiots.

 

I've run into these types before and I just don't get it. Do they really think they can BS people like that and sound cool? Especially obvious car guys sitting around talking about engine swaps they're planning to do and stuff...

Maybe this guy would like to race the V6 Camaro guy I ran into awhile back that "had" to add a 200mph speedo to his car (which he didn't have with him to show me) because the stock speedo just wasn't cutting it. Heck he pegged out the 200mph speedo all the time, according to him at least. I mean for crying out loud...

 

Maybe he changed his gearing/tire size/whatever and had a Canadian 200km speedometer and has a downhill road he drives on with a tailwind that gets him to peg the 200km speedo all the time? Maybe!!

my friends sisters boyfriend is like that...swears up and down he had a 700 horse 5.0 that would do wheelies all day on street tires AND with 19"spinners. So now he has a crx thats going to have 800 horsepower according to him cause he got bored of the mustang...i really hate people. i dont know why they think well believe this ****

 

You might have to watch out, a kid near me has a V6 Fbody with some bolt ons and spray and runs 12.8s in it!

Everyone lies about their car, especially when they have nothing to really show for. Its something we all have to get used to!
