Camaro vs. Camaro

Heres the scenario...There is this one guy who always makes fun of my car, i don't know why because his looks worse than mine, he thinks that his is the king or something. He wants to race me for money and i want to know that i AM going to win before i race him. He has a stock 1988 camaro RS with a 305 TBI, its a 5-speed(bone stock). My car is a 1989 Camaro RS with a 305 TBI also but mine has a 700-R4. My mods include...

-edelbrock 14" open element air cleaner
-K&N 14"x3" air filter
-edelbrock performer manifold
-Fuel injector spacer
-B&M shift kit
-hypertech 160 degree thermostat
-Accel cap and rotor
-3" Cat back exhaust
-richmond 3.42 gears(being installed..)

does this kid stand a chance, or is he gonna win becuz he has the 5-speed?

You shoul dbeat him but not by much. Your mods should help you out a tiny bit but those gears should give you the edge. You also just have to slam down on the gas and point the car stright. He on the other hand has a chance to lose due to poor driving skills.

The gears will be the only thing giving you the edge..you mess up and he doesnt, you're toast. the 5 speeds are quicker form the start so itll be pretty even but provided both good drivers, you should edge out the win.

As long as your not dumb about it I think you have it. I wouldn't put A ton of money on it, but I'd say put a decent amount on it and have fun.
