Who would win?
Im looking into getting a 92 z28 305 5speed.
I was sort of thinking that since they 305 and the 350 are pretty close in hp and the 350 has an auto tranny that they would be a pretty darn good race? anyone know the answer to who would win if they are both bone stock, same year, similar miles?
what kind accelleration numbers would be expected from both.
also, how does a 305 5 speed z28 compare to a 5.0 mustang?
thanks in advance

In a race between a 92 350TPI and a 92 305TPI 5-speed stock for stock would be fairly close. The 92 350's usually run 14.3-14.4's. The 92 305's are good for 14.7-14.9. The 87-92 Mustang GT with a 5-speed will almost always beat a 305TPI Z28 in stock form. It usually takes the 5.7 to take down a 5.0 GT. I am assuming that you are talking about Tuned Port Injection cars here, beacuse the TBI cars will not compare to a 350 or a 5.0 GT.....

Bone stock vs. stock the LB9 should be a few cars behind a stang at the end of the quarter, due to the fact that LB9 motors trap low.

Keep in mind that the M5 driver has to put an effort into driving it fast while an L98 auto just has to stab it.
