Thats DEFFINATELY not a tuned port. They have their own kinda sound. I'm thinking an LS1. Sounds good though.

Well he was smoking the tires hitting 6-7k. You can smoke the tires for nothing in a TPI car hitting those kinda rpm.

Plus an LS1 has a different firing order.. which sounds different. Kinda like Ford Small block and how they sound real good.

sounds like straight pipes/bullet mufflered/slp lm on a built sbc. sounds like it needs to be tuned as well (sounds like he's running on a stock tune or close to it), but it's definetly healthy and i'll say for certain it isn't a TPI. Probably a carb or some sort of aftermarket fuel injection - HSR/super ram etc. doesn't sound anything like an ls1 to me.

Me either. I'd say it was a high-revving small block. LS1s have their own exhaust note that you can hear through almost any exhaust you put on one, and that car didn't have it.

lol you have no idea about NASCAR do you? If you knew anything about it you wouldn't hesitate to realize that the work and skill those drivers put forth is nothing short of a true athletic accomplishment.

NASCAR not a sport? That's as dumb as saying baseball isn't a sport.

And doing donuts in a church parking lot is only going to get you tickets.

actually I used to follow nascar quite closely right up until this year. It's not even a matter of my driver not winning or someone I don't like winning. I kind of scratch my head that whenever there needs to be a memorial victory because of some tragedy the team always seems to pull one out of their asses no matter how bad of a season they may have had to win that big memorial victory. And to do it in such a manor that they completely dominate and run away from the field. Actually I believe 30 years from now retired drivers are going to come forward and say that not every race was fixed but there was fixing going on and that they were told to rough it up on the track.

p.s. I paid for part of that parking lot and I like tickets.

couldnt have said it better. believe it or not, there is ALOT of physical work going on inside that car. lets see anyone on this board do 200 miles an hour around a turn (and yeah now that they have restrictor plates and all that other junk to slow em down it doesn happen much, but lets see anyone here do 180 around a corner)

I'm not saying that it's easy. I'm not even saying that every race is rigged. I'm saying they give preferential treatment to some of their money makers and I'm suspicous that they don't manipulate rules and regulations to favor a particular driver in particular circumstances. or go tell some of the driver's to bang it up a little that it's good for ratings. I feel if ya really want to see racing then watch Busch or ARCA. If you want sports entertainment then watch WWE or Nextel.

I watch it. Tony Stewart owns a track up here. so he has some local ties. I just don't live and breath it like I used to. If I miss a race on tv cause I have something better to do outside I'm not going to be heartbroken. It takes talent and it's dangerous.

Okay, you are saying that "NASCAR" (Nextell Cup) is rigged so instead people should watch Busch Series...isn't that the NASCAR BUSCH SERIES???

not a huge fan of nascar..... i dont like racing in circles like that. Live it might be a whole new experience but on TV is boring.

i like road racing/le mans type stuff. cooler cars, and more talent

so no one knows whos car this is?

Yup that car sounds great. I dunno why anyone would consider that powersliding. He used throttle and weight transfer to slide into the first turn and connected it to another turn. Powersliding is kicking it out on the exit of a turn via all throttle and regaining traction. That mustang video was definately not drifting. Drifting is controlled, that guy in the mustang had no control. If you guys have a valid reason why you dont consider drifting a sport I'd like to hear it. Most people lose respect for the sport because it is judged. But if you look at the history of sports in general, you'll find that ALOT of sports out there are judged.

driftin requires great skill. but i dont know if i consider it a sport. same with drag racing and other forms of racing. its just racing, not quite a sport like football, hockey, basketball, and baseball, etc.

In my past life...

Two things:
I want the car and I want to be able to drive like that
Drifting and racing are sports and that guy in the stang needs a Yugo.

Sliding is good times... not the same feeling of accomplishment that you get from being able to drive really freaking fast. Powersliding is just a way for me to impress people. Thats all its -for: show... Its kinda a *****-status thing I suppose. But it sure is fun. It has no practical purpose in almost any form of racing though, despite a lot of dumb kids' assumptions otherwise. I still stand by what I said earlier though: fun fun fun.

The thing its good for in racing is to be able to react when your car goes squirrely. any time one of your tires is slpipping your not going as fast as you should be. Good drivers can save it, bad drivers go roundy, But dam its fun!!!! "DRIVESIDEWAYS"

first off:

what you just said is you feel more accomplished driving really freakin fast (in a straight line i assume) than sliding around a turn at 50MPH then sliding right into another turn? wich one takes more skill and practice? anyone can drive fast in a straight line.

second:

yes it is all for show. when you arent driving for money what are you driving for? bragging rights. even though it sounds bad, right after you do something you feel good about, what do you do? you brag about it to your friends.

I think you just assumed wrong....

EDIT: And the only people who ever question the difficulty of "driving fast in a straight line" are the ones who aren't good at it.
