Camaro vs. saab?

So my friend keeps boasting and bragging about how he can whoop me big time with his 97 saab 900. his car is manual transmission but other then that its stock.
could my V6 beat him? my car is manual also.
i was thinking of just going out there and racing him but i dont know if i would win.

His car is slow but yours is slower. Sorry. Race him anyways though. You never know what may happen.

If its a 900 SE then you wont have a chance with the measely 135 hp a v6 puts out. The 900 SE is the 2 liter turbocharged inline 4. They put out 200 hp so i think you are out of your ballgame here. If its a 900s it would be a 2.3 N/A 4 cylinder and it would be a good race.

they also stuck one of GMs fabolous 2.5 liter v6s in the 900 SEs as well. But you shouldnt have to worry about the v6 either.

if you have any more questions let me know, i work on them everyday

If your scared to lose with a stock V6, don't race at all because there isn't much you can beat...

Yeah they're technically Ecotec derived motors.

Either way, the Saab will be faster with any of the motors in that year.

It's not all about the winning. Don't turn down a race because you aren't sure you can win. Thats ***** talk.

actually up until 2002 GM and saab were using the saab b234 and b202 motors. Then in 2003 they went to that corporate Ecotec engine. Which in my opinion is nothing compared to the saab motors.

In the 900 you are racing, it is most likely gonig to be the N/A B234 motor, which is the DOHC 2.3.

I think it will be a good race. But the thirdgen will most likely win.

How much fun can you possibly have racing two 16 second or slower cars. It wouldnt be any more exciting than merging onto the highway!
