Went to a car show...got in some runs
Me and a couple friends went down to a car show tonight... they are all into the import scene. so all 4 of us go cruising down the two lane highway down to the show.
i'm in my Irocz.. one kid has a ITR swapped bolt on 95 civic coupe with carbon fiber hood and trunk. looks kinda cool. runs ok, needs a better tune tho he says.. computer aint all right yet.
other is a similar civic but with full exhaust/cai SOHC motor. not sure if it was a D16 or w/e or B16 sohc.
last car was a SVT focus with CAI.
nothing major but some fun. along the way we all take some turns running each other. the SOHC civic runs well with the ITR one who had a passenger, but still got pulled alittle up top.. i was impressed. the SVT was quick too for what it was. put down 153whp. i usually was in the back just running behind them as my car was abit quicker than all theirs.
i'd give them a jump from behind me, then get on it as they closed near me, and the ITR civic hung well. took me alittle while to pass and stop his head start pull... but i got em.
then along the way a nice later 60's nova SS came up. a older guy and his wife. car sounded loud but looked all original. he was goin out the show too so all of us just cruised together and played around. he was a car in front of me and a car behind the focus, when i heard him get on it. i punched from the 65mph roll and caught him immediately and started to pull. i had to let off early as i was comin up on the focus. the focus was pretty even with him from what i could tell, but looked to be gettin creeped on. the ITR was up a few cars messin with the SOHC. i dont think they ran the SS.
Overall, not a bad SS just wasnt too fast. not sure what motor he had in it. i never got a chance to talk to him again.
so we all had some fun. the show was good too. alot of nice cars

thats gotta be great! having a group and them being thirdgen guys too! i see thirdgens around my area, but never get a chance to talk to them. some arent on here at all. not too many nice thirdgens tho
well, i been running 13.8's to 13.9s on my street tires at near 100mph in the good weather, 97-98 so far in the heat. on my new ET streets, i hope to hit low 13's. if i do i wanna try to get 12.99 on stock TPI/L98 with just minor mods like full exhaust/pullies/tune/electric pump/AFPR if needed, and stuff like that... no TPI mods, no cam mods, nothing. and if i need to then i'll do 1.6 rockers. we'll see what she does wednesday
so what are you running now, 13s or have you managed to get into the 12s yet?

i seen a 5.0 stick car do 13.09 at 101.x
i am hoping that i can get 13.4's with the car right now... then a few more mild mods to free up some power and then some more weight reduction. i have a feeling, if i get a custom tune and some hp freeing mods like electric water pump, underdrive pulley, AC delete/smog delete, maybe AFPR i can hit a bottom 13 to a possible high 12 at 101-102

That Nova must have been a 307 car if you pulled on him like that.

update. me and the same kids minus the sohc civic went to the track. the ITR ran 15.7 but he says he missed third and had 2.39 60 foot
svt focus ran 15.7's as well but with a 2.3x 60 as well.
those are the best runs that i know of that they did

you have one in your area also. I have been thinking of getting a pair of bolt cutters and going to his house at 3 in the morning and cutting it off and throwing that hideous metal spoiler in some random dumpster

it is something i would never do, i just wish would happen
i hate that kid, he calls my car a slow po$ because it is brown and thinks his 305 tbi would destroy me because carbs are old technology. get this his car is 3 different colors because he put used parts on is and he thinks that makes his car look better
