1985 Vs 4th Gen LT1
I think this is my best kill to date I was driving home from my girls house when this 4th gen camaro flys by me it is like midnight so I speed up get next to him he keeps on looking over so we hit a light! I asked what he had he said LT1 bolt ons I saw he had a nice sounding exhaust I’ve never raced an LT1. Light turn green I had the best launch I’ve ever had I totally killed his camaro! Next thing I know im doing 60 and he like 10+ car behind me. I need to take my Z/28 to the tack get a time slip on it.

I don't think he's lying. I think Stu is correct. I've done it myself (let off), why bother staying on it when you blew the launch.

Lying why on earth would I be lying? Every time I post about racing people say o well that car is slow, crappy, nothing worth racing when I put a car people think should be a fast car and I race and win people say o they had a bad launch or your lying. Is this a 3rd gen website or what? People ever just stop to think maybe he has a decent car that can run alright? Why do you people act like a LT1 is sooooo unbeatable and act like carb 350 are so slow I know a lot of guys with 350’s that can smoke LS1 corvettes all motor any day of the week. I know this well get flamed so im sorry for that.
And if you want to race that’s cool me and my buddies go up to Holt so let me know we can work something out.

No one is saying your car is slow...no one is saying you didn't win...but 10 car lengths by 60mph? C'mon man, big time exageration.

I don't think a carb'd 350 is slow, in fact it has the exact same potential as the car you raced... I even asked your combo but you didn't reply.
Our comments were based on your 10 cars by 60 mph thing. It's obvious he didn't get on it.

You obviously misunderstand what people are trying to tell you. No one said you lost, or that your car is slow, or that LT1s are unbeatable. 10 cars by 60 MPH is just plain BS.
10 car lengths is about 4 busses. Are you saying you put 4 buslengths on this dude, all by 60 mph?
Other than that little comment, good kill. It's nice to see some fast third gens around this area every now and then.

10 car lengths to 60... I dont think my car on the slicks would walk an LT1 10 cars to 60. I believe you won, no questions asked, but the number of car lengths was probably more like 3-4 if he spun out of the hole!

On the other hand, how could this guy have won the race? There was no race because the other guy wasn't racing!

Some people are not good judges of distance. Specially if he was ahead and the adrenaline was flowing, while at the same time looking in the mirror and guessing how far someone is.
