2002 mustang GT vs 2001 Camaro Z28
hey guys, im gonna be financing a car soon, looking to find one around 12,000-13,000 and im debating on which car to get, i heard the mustangs are fast and built nice, even inside, but am also looking at a Z28 for 12,000. which one would win in a race? probably the Z28 right? also, is there any better cars out there for this price?

Stock to stock, the Camaro would rape the mustang anyday of the year. The LS1 in that camaro is a very durable and powerful engine. The mustangs 4.6 Liter engine is an alright beginner engine but it will never compare to the LS1's 5.7 liters. I would chose the camaro if I were you. The camaro will hold more value, more street respect, and get you more babes.

i also found another deal, same price as the Z28, (the Z28 has 30,000 miles, and its a 2001, which aint bad at all,) i found a 2003 monte carlo LS with 18,000 miles on it, i know performance wise, it isnt a competition, but i dont think its a bad deal either do you?

go with the z28 hands down or a ss camaro. The only thing faster i can think of would be a slp packaged camaro with the ls1 engine.

1999-2004 GTs got the F-bodys beat in looks by far IMO.
But the LS1 is such a better engine, it'll put down more with a cam and exhaust then that little *** 4.6L will with 10# of boost.
Plus they are more fuel efficient. You gotta go F-body...

Personally If I were you Id go with the Fbody (If I were me Id go with the Mustang, but I have my reasons for it). Better deal, faster car, and looks are subjective!

my vote 98-02 trans am ws-6
Video - trans am compilation. a couple of camaros here and there that i couldnt edit out. i filmed the race at 1:02 video time. - Pontiac. in 3:41 you'll see a 98-02 camaro ss vs a 98-02 formula ws-6.

Go with the LS1. The LS1 car literally makes almost 120hp more than those year GT's. The LS1 car is probably as fast of a car (assuming you are buying a car with no mods with lower mileage) that you will get with $12k. I would only get an SS for the appearance package. It is no faster than a Z28 or any of the pontiac mills. If you want an auto do not buy a car with a 2.73 rear. Your best bet is to find one with the T56 (6 speed) which will come with the 3.42 rear and 150mph speedo.
However, this isn't about 3rd gens so I have to shut it down.
