My friend mentioned that we should run our cars at the track and i was just wondering what kind of race it would be?

I have a 91 formula with a 383 stroker based off of the twister buildup i should be between 450 and 500 hp and torque. I have a 3:73 gears and posi and a built th-350 with a 2,800 to 3000 stall.

He has a 67 gto 455 he says he uses a holley 800 dp thts been jetted up, im not sure of the tranny but its manual and he has the one wheel wonder with a low enough gear if he wines it up and lets of it chirps. Iv driven in his car and it doesnt seem to get up as fast as mine and i would think my car is lighter but i guess ill ask some other peoples opinions. thanx Nick

Many parts of this post caused me to laugh...almost uncontrollably. Go race him and see what happens. Come back and post the results.

Yep...just because its a 455 in a GTO doesnt mean hes gonna kill you. Especially with a "one wheel deal", and a stick. GM A-bodies are wheel hop machines, so hes more than likely going to baby it out of the hole. With your 383, the 3.06 first gear of the 700R4, and 3.73's....dont put on a smoke show. If you know how to launch the car at all, you got it. Just hope he doesnt reel you in too quickly after the launch when those cubes start kicking in. Odds are its just a smogged boat anchor with stock 2.73 or 3.08 gears anyway though. NOT GO GET HIM DAMMIT!!

Having raced quite a few GTO's in my day and none of them being nearly as fast as their owners think they are, have fun!
