1992 Camaro vs 1990 Cougar

Hey guys,

A friend recently challenged me to a race. I have a 1992 camar 3.1 v6 with cold air intake, dynomax super turbo exhaust and high flow cat. He has the 1990 cougar 3.8 v6. Our engines are rated the same but he has about 40 lbs more torque than i do. My car weighs around 3105 lbs and his is 35** lbs. Does my car stand a chance at a rolling start? Both cars have a 4 speed tranny.

Judging from the other Cougar V6's and V8 Tbirds I've rode in you'll take him. I think the Cougars could be contenders but they are heavy and the gears in them are weak. If someone were to put gears and a stall in one of the V8 HO models I'de say the would have quite a runner on there hands but stock they're pretty sluggish.

I think you'll walk him from a digg and from a roll... it's all about the power to weight, not much else matters. Take out your spare for good measure
