twin turbo?
I am thinking about turboing a v8, I would like to do a twin turbo 305 TPI, but if that cant be built strong enough then I would do a 350 TPI with twin turbo, I want to know how much HP/TQ would these engines be running at different amounst of boost 5,10, and maybe 15 lbs

i guess i'll be the one to break the news to you.. no one has any idea.. there i said it.. there are WAY TOO MANY variables to think about.. cam, initial compression, heads, turbo(s) used, tuning, injector size, all that stuff.. give us a solid build up with ALL the parts you want to use.. then we can make a guess.. a twin turbo 305 can make ANYWHERE from 350-750+hp.. its all on how you build it..

if you really want performance and gas mileage, get an LS1.. i've heard of 26mpg with 400+ hp at the wheels.. more than enough power IMO.. thats good for mid 11's

No actually its quite serious, why should I sacrifice my gas mileage for performance when gas prices are raising at almost 20 cents a month? Lets be serious, I want to be able to drive my car, and not spend insane amounts of money on gas.

Yeah you're going to save some real money putting in a 305 and then sticking twin turbo's on it. That's an all around waste at every corner. A 305 is NOT much more efficient than a 350. As said before if you want to save money get an LS1 and turbo it, or get an econo box to drive around and put a monster engine in your Camaro. There's a reason I thought this thread was a joke, I'm sure I wasn't the only one.

Re: twin turbo?
I would say if you are serious about it...
I would dump the 305 for a 350, it may be 1/2 a mph difference
If you tune it right and keep the cam mild it can make some SERIOUS power when you want it...God I love Turbo power.
I know of a turbonetics SDC twin system that they have
Its two T60's nothing potent a friend's Dad got...
If your serious about it, I think he paid $7500 for it with an intercooler....

Re: twin turbo?
I know there are several companies that sell turbo kits for LS1's, with the only other mods being headers and obvious computer work running well over 500hp but I don't know how long the motor lasts at that point with stock internals. Most people don't run turbos on v8s for street cars just because the fact that it is more complicated to work on and the amount of power a mild turbocharged v8 can make is to much for daily street driving. I have seen a few guys with turbo v8s but they were all making 800+rwhp and you would be nuts to drive that on the street. Hell my friends GN makes over 500hp with 18-20 pounds of boost and its only a single turbo 3.8 V6. Imagine now a 350 small block.
