Pinks - ALL OUT

For those of you that missed it. A 91 Firebird, looked like a 90 GTA to me, won the first Pinks All Out race. That's right a Third Gen showed the rest how it's done!

That's the second Pinks - All Out race. The first one was in Texas and a woman in a white pickup won it.

Too bad! Do they charge to register? What ET are they looking for? I could spray and drop half a second.

Re: Pinks - ALL OUT

Like Kevin said , the first All Out race "was" won by a girl driving a early model full size pickup that was back halfed and tubbed with slicks and powered by a rather large cubic inch big block with real Hilborn fuel injection not the garden variety tpi stuff use see on the street.
The F-body that won this last event had little to do with a real F-body outside the body panels. It was a full tube frame car front to rear .
Alot of the cars were running full electronics with carburator stops to keep from breaking out of the 10.** index. {edit}(OOPS! 9.0 index)
they even had dragsters and tube frame roadsters that would normally run well into the 8 sec bracket.
IMHO Pinks is losing what little credibility they had by allowing cars to that you would NOT see at street races. ie the dragsters and roadsters.
But TV ratings and sponser $$ usually prevail in the decision making processes.

Re: Pinks - ALL OUT

I totally agree with you, I'de rather see them run a 12.0 index class and make the cars be street legal than to watch the 9.0 index they ran this time out.

Re: Pinks - ALL OUT

any time you have index/bracket racing, this sort of stuff will always happen. those guys gotta win at something somehow.... i always thought that type racing was really dull and boring.

I know trucks can be fast. I just have to laugh after watching the second one and seeing econorails, roadsters, full bodied and trucks that a truck would beat out all others.

And FYI I used to race a 1974 Ford Ranchero, you know a Ford El Camino, but still, a TRUCK!!!!
