another vid of my 305 tbi w/ spray

since my last thread got CRAPPED ON by a bunch of certain individuals who felt it VERY necessary to stuff their opinion down my throat and got the thread locked, i will post the video here.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=KfbJFGcx0SY

some of the info in the vid is wrong, my car is a 92, and i didnt make the vid so dont tell me i spelled passenger wrong.

Cool, Nice kill on the lightning. I also noticed that the race against the Z28, his honking sucked. His last honk was too fast. But he got you. So what are you running in the 1/4 mile?

as far as 1/4th mile times , 16.3@101mph.

i outran a 13flat mustang not too long ago tho... heh.

Re: another vid of my 305 tbi w/ spray

um, do you mean 14.3? hell even 13.3?

101mph is insanely fast for a 16 second car.

Re: another vid of my 305 tbi w/ spray

yeah stuff isnt adding up here. My 90 305 tbi went 15.7 at 88mph, so how is it you managed to go "slower" and yet go "faster" at the same time....hmmm....unless you made an honest misprint mistake I am calling bs. Put on your waders boys, shnits getting deep.

Re: another vid of my 305 tbi w/ spray

i have a video of my 16.3@101 mph run. haha..

i posted above clearly stating i outran a 13flat mustang did i not?

this is my car when it ran the 16.3@101, i cut a 2.8 sixty foot and i let off when the smoke stops then got back on it, but it was too late. uhm, the best run i managed that day on the 100 shot was a 14.3 @ 100mph with a 2.6 sixty foot.

but like i said, 150 shot + better tires, and some stuff removed from the car, i outran a 13 flat mustang, 05 GT with some mods.
----------

Im gonna guess you didn't see my other thread.

go lurk more. read more, then start callin BS on stuff you can actually back up. if you dont know how someone could run slower with a higher trap you need to seriously read up on what happens under various situations on a 1/4th mile pass.

Re: another vid of my 305 tbi w/ spray

Just as a purely objective thought, have you had any thoughts of doing a build-up on the 305? For about the same as the nitrous, you can get a set of heads and an old flat tappet cam kit and get about the same level of performance that your getting with the power adder. A comp-cams cam kit (something like the 262-112 LSA) and a worked over set of LB9 heads wouldnt cost too much and would be good for 13's. For even more fun, build the 305 up AND run nitrous.

Re: another vid of my 305 tbi w/ spray

cool vid, nice race against the LS1. Although both the T88 355ci, and the built 305 tbi sound like great unique builds, I would like to see what a built 305 tbi can do with some nitrous. You really don't see those types of builds very often.
very decent car tho..

thanks. yea as a matter of fact. i DO have plans for the 305. 200 shot, and mock the turbo up on it and then go see what the 305 can do with the turbo before the 355 goes in.

you let me worry about that. I will bet you 500 bucks i spray a 200 shot with a t88 on my way to work when i get it mocked up on the 305.

500 bucks. we can set up pay pal accounts and i will get video. if it blows, ill give you 500 bucks. if it makes it, you have to pay pal me.

stock bottom end. 166k mile 305 tbi.

i can see that you are serious. I have a doubt as to that setup lasting a while but that doesn't mean I am right. It would be interesting none the less to see, and you should do it. But just for your own enjoyment.

I think that a boosted and sprayed 305 TBI would be plenty of power, don't you think? Wait, can't you fit your fist inside of a T88?

First off this is dangerous in so many ways it scares me. Second off bragging about building something like this and blowing it up (which it will if not the first time you hit it, one of the next few) just reinforces some things. I sure hope the motor you are building for the T88 isn't a stock block junk motor your going to put it on to begin with.

who said the t88 would be supplying any boost to the engine? Im just here to make a quick buck.

and yes i think you can fit your fist in side the t88. i think ive swettled on another turbo though. PT71gtq. its basically just as big. but a much newer turbo.

oh its a stock block, little bit of block fill, up to the water pump outlets. probably vortec heads - dunno what else to do on a budget i guess, vic jr intake, probably gonna have the 2 bolt converted to the splayed 4 bolt setup. and a forged crank, eagle H beams, and je pistons. only things i can afford. and why the **** do you guys care if i blow the engine. are you relying on it to take you to work in the morning? nope. o well ok then.

ha man the hell with the hecklers, its your car, mod the hell out of it, do what YOU want, have fun with it, and if a day comes when you have that nagging thought in the back of your mind to blow that b**ch sky high, then for god sakes blow it. Who cares what other people think. I have nothing against the 305, its a good motor and though its not the "peoples choice", its not the "peoples" car, so have lots of fun with it, and dont stress over the hecklers, they seem to be everyone around here, they are like muslim extremists, just cant mind their own damn business and gotta trash talk, and attack everyone else cause they have nothing positive to offer.

I suppose some of your disgust is with me. I'm just tired of reading posts by guys who have no concern for anyone but themselves. What you're doing with your car may be fun for you and we all appreciate you posting results for us ALL to learn from. Just don't get yourself or anyone else hurt or killed. Why does everyone have to be so "extreme" these days?

As a huge supporter of tormenting the 305 to test how much you can wring out of it and how long it will last I also see what they're saying here. I think you should just play it equal and make sure you let it be known this is a personal experiment and that you are taking a risk, not trying to make an example.

Re: another vid of my 305 tbi w/ spray

thats pretty kool, for only a 150 shot that baby will move.

also I could beleive it holding to a 200 shot with over 100k on the clock especially after witnessing sbc durability. I think our biggest help is probably that the valves start to float so early on most of the 305s that it makes it hard to over rev realy. AS fof high cylinder pressure it'll old for a while im sure, sooner or later it will blow but, hey nothing is permenant especially in the aftermarket modified car industry, everything is give and take.

plus i had a 1992 camaro and i know exactly what you mean with a 2.8 60 footer. best i got outa mine was a 2.62 but, it was a dying 305 (low on compression).

2.73s + oogles of power just = flames imo from my lowly driving experiences lol.

anyways i cant even launch a posi 255/60 5 spd speed iroc. best launch i had all night yesterday was a 2.34 60 footer lol , then again the tires are dead and missing chunks maybe thats why, or maybe i just suck that bad but, either way props to an interesting video and build up.
