that car is way too heavy to catch you by the quarter youll take the jump and he most likely wont real you in unless hes got 5 gears and you are runnin way past the quarter but definetely not by the quarter mark dude you have an IROC you can be a little more cocky

Re: '95 eldorado vs 89 iroc

My buddies 99 Eldo was incredibly slow. My 91 Coupe Deville with the 4.9 PFI motor was way quicker. And my stock 89 Formula 350 would have whooped my 91 Coupe Deville. See where I'm going here???

Re: '95 eldorado vs 89 iroc

sorry my memory sucks ... but anyway i figured i have him in the quater but not by much according to my research both cars 100% stock were no more than a second or two I beleve again we're calling on my memory here and also after i bought the car and I was driving it on the highway it seemed like i was having trouble staying with him granted i just bought the car and didnt want to mess around too much not to mention it wasn't in racing shape... Sorry for making myself look like an idoit atleast i knew there was a 2 in the number they're close (32 12 wats the diff)lol ...thanks guys

P.S. im not much of a car guy thats what all my friends are for so once you get into the technical BS im lost anyhow but thats why I come on this site in hopes of learning and just out right for my love of camaros

My 99 Seville STS totally inilated a late 80's style IROC-Z a few years ago.
4.6L Northstar.
Very fun race, I had no clue how my car would do, I kept pulling away the whole time, I could tell he was tryin, but no match.

Re: '95 eldorado vs 89 iroc

I must admit.. a few months ago, I was next to I believe a late 90's STS at a stoplight on US30. We weren't racing, but I gunned it a bit like I like to do just because its fun. Lo and behold, he jumps ahead of me. I'm like.. "wtf?" so I give it all I've got. He just kept pulling on me hopelessly till we reached the speed limit. I still have no idea if he was actually trying or not, but all I know is I sure as heck was!

Re: '95 eldorado vs 89 iroc

IIRC, the 1995 NorthStar had 275HP or 295HP depending upon trim, but the Caddys were pretty heavy and FWD. Race him from a stop to maximize his weight and traction issues and to negate that 4V engines like to pull up top.

Re: '95 eldorado vs 89 iroc

I know this is a newer model Caddy but I went up against a 06 DTS last summer & the whole time we were going back & forth I could tell that he was wanting to kill my car but couldn't. That car has 275HP & 292 ft. of torque & it's alot heavier than my car too. I have more power in both departments & I guess he assumed I was a stock 305 or something. I showed him how to drive once the playing field was leveled when the cars disappeared & blew him away. I didn't stop to look back after that.
