89 GTA vs 02 RSX type s

Last summer I raced my buddies 2002 Acura RSX type S b/cuz he kept givin me crap about my car. I smoked him on the 1/4 mile with tires from 93. His car had an aftermarket CAI and a coffee can exhaust. My car still had it's original radio. We both squealed at the start, but my dry rotting tires caught quicker and by the end of the 1/4 he was ready to stop talking **** about my car. Just throwing this out there, our cars are mean, even when they're stock and almost 20 haha

Re: 89 GTA vs 02 RSX type s

nice kill. ya a buddy of mine has a 98' GTP and his was all stock, cept for cone air filter. He claimed he would woop on me all day long at the track. My car only had 3.73 gears and a B&M shift kit. So we raced at the track and he always took off the line faster as i couldnt hook up but id blow by him in 1st by the 60ft as he was in the middle of 2nd already. would get him by 2 car lenghts ever time. Now he always talks about how fast my car is lol... but i did get my *** handed to my by a 4.6L ford crown vic interceptor the other day lol.

haha hopefully it wasn't still in use by the "authorities" My friend had a chance to buy this 02-03 (they all look the same) interceptor. Still had the Sheriff pin stripes on it. it was a little messy inside, it needed a new muffler, some wires and hoses had been chewed by rats, but other than that the car ran fine...in fact If I had had 1k I woulda bought it haha

Holy crap man thats crazy! I'm in PA right now, and I go down the road and I see so many cars that are tuned for racing haha they all challenge me, but I don't do anything for two reasons.

1) In October I got pulled over for street racing and got 6 points on my license. I have a month probation left, but until then, If I run a stop sign I lose my license.
2) My car is very much so stock and I can't afford replacing to much right now. If you look at my sig I've already spent about 2 grand on it.

Re: 89 GTA vs 02 RSX type s

haha i hear ya. 3 weeks after gettin my car i got a speeding ticket doing 90 in a 70 but he was nice enough to write me up for 80 and thats only 1 point thank god. And i always have the pos tuners in my town try to race me, and i alwasy blow them away cause i can do bout 50 something in just first at about 4500rpms and then grab second, then when they go past me after i kill them they look at me like its a damn race car when really its mostly stock w/ just minor bolts ons like headers,3" exhaust, K&N open element filter. Guess they just dont know a real car when they see it....

Not exaclty.. because i do hate to admit it but my cuz has an 02 Subaru WRX STI. the cars all stock w/ the factory turbo and awd and he walks all over me. His is a 6 speed and i love that car to death. if i could have any other car beside my T/A it would have to be one of those. 300 hp and 300 lbs of tourque stock? its an awsome machine... lol

They are impressive, but awesome is a little over the top. Of that 300/300 240 is probably to the ground. They are dirty from digs but thats all. Once the boost is upped they tend to pull pretty good on the top end though.

haha ya'll are ripping me up on my last comment! Thankfully I haven't run into an import that would smoke 5 ways from sunday....I think I'd cry lol That Acura was a turbo and a manual. TA I wonder if I could beat your cuz's car....my car is the 5.7L 350hp. :O fly89 you had a TTA and you modded it?! WHY? lmao that car's worth something and in a few years that price will probably doubled. Why didn't you keep it stock?!

Dude, there are plenty of stock imports that would rip you, hell a lot of them are low 14 second cars now which is scary.

Where the hell does it say I owned a modded TTA? Besides even if I did own one I'd mod the hell out of it, bolt on mods could be replaced with the stock parts in a day or so

Re: 89 GTA vs 02 RSX type s

I didn't say that they weren't making them man, hell I bet my friend's Acura TL could kick me. Maybe got that wrong on your tag, "89 Trans Am GTA-Was turbo buick power, now gone" TTA right there, but I took it as you took the engine out, not as you sold it....my bad....Some cars are better left stock and not have any bolt on, but to each is to own, and you are entitled to your own opinion about modding a car like that.

Re: 89 GTA vs 02 RSX type s

It was a regular GTA with a TTA motor swapped in...parted it years ago.

There are a ton of bolt on TTA's out there, in fact I'd venture to say there are just as many modded ones out there as stock ones. You don't need huge mods to make them really move which is why they're so easy to return to stock. I'll eventually get one some day. I almost sold the vette for one. Nothing like a nice clean thirdgen, I miss the ones I had
