me vs. built 05 GTO
Just had my first real race with my car.
was cruising the countryside, and found a grey GTO sitting in front of a store at an intersection, I figured maybe he'll play, so i turned and headed down past him and he pulled right out behind me . I get on it a bit, and he keeps up so i nail it, he kept up for a little bit and I started to pull on him, had to let off cause there were some bad turns and a coveredbridge coming up. So we twist through the little crossing and up onto a nice straight stretch of open 2 lane road, no traffic. He pull up alongside of me doing about 40, so im sure hes meaning to run at this point. His buddy does a little hand drop and were off, i fudged up, I was in third, should have been in second, and out of my powerband so he got a jump on me but i stuck right with him and by 4th i was pulling, slowed up at about 130. Next straight away, same thing, pretty even with me pulling a little at the end.
Needless to say i was pretty damn happy with the car after that, stock GTO's are no slouch. So i pulled over in a lot and he followed, he totally loved the way my car sounded, and his sounded awsome too, i asked what he had done to the goat, he said full exhaust, intake, heads and cam! and it put down almost 500 rwhp!!!
I was like DAMN!!!, my car really moves! and i still have a crappy 3" single exhaust! i was even spinning my 335's a little on the shifts. Im really impressed with my car right now
guys name was shane or something, and hes a local, so i dont doubt i will see him again.

nice.. btw, GTO's are around 4000lbs..
500rwhp and 4000lbs is the same speed as 375rwhp and 3000lbs.. but none the less, you can say you kept up with a car making close to 500rwhp..

My dads friend has a new GTO. I got to ride in it, and I must say that thing is pretty nasty.. Fun ride for sure. Congrats on beating one!

Re: me vs. built 05 GTO
For reference, one of my best friends has an 05' GTO. Heads/cam/full bolt ons... it did 411/396 on a "conservative dyno. 11.89 @ 116+ at the track on tires. It's high 12's at best on the 18" street radials. Stock gears & clutch for the 11.89 pass, just got a dual disc Tex & 3.91 gears... new times to follow.
Good kill!
