88, 350, stock=L98.
L98>L03.
but you're in luck
cause,
bolt on carb'd 350>L98
and that's the easiest way to do it my dude

Re: 90 vs 88 camaro
You have the gearing and weight advantage, and many of those late '70's 350's were boat anchors.
I go with you.
I go with you.

Re: 90 vs 88 camaro
This is what i found out with the 1978 camaros!
LM-1 350 hp160 @ 3800 tq 260 @ 2400
LM-1 350 hp170 @ 3800 tq 270 @ 2400
Z-28 350 hp175 @ 3800 tq 265 @ 2400
Z-28 350 hp185 @ 4000 tq 280 @ 2400
and i know its not a Z-28 so the rear end would have to be 2.41:1 or 3.08:1
SO it looks like he is at 160 or 170 horsepower with 260 or 270 pounds of torque with 38 years of running. He only paid 3,500 so it is also not in the best shape i think i might have him?

Re: 90 vs 88 camaro
Ok i finally got to peak at the car since it broke down on him from school. It is a 1980 Z-28 it came with 190 hp and 280 torque. Now when i pulled over and seen it really quick it is run down what i seen it had a roll cage in it lol. It looked like he had exshaust with long tube headers from looking under the car. So i am hoping my buddy will get the righ info about the engine.

I agree. Sounds like the kid doesn't know what he is talking about. Run him and find out.

Re: 90 vs 88 camaro
He just past his test like a week ago i guess. Its not a stick it is an auto. It looks to be really run down but i dont know. He keeps having problems with it. The only reason i dont want to race is i hate to loose lol. Iv raced one car and lost and that was a viper lol just screwing around. But ill see if he ever gets it goin again last he said to me was the block might be cracked so i have no clue.
