i dont know, your car has no mods. a bone stock 2.8 3rdgen is a 17 sec car or worse. his car would have to be slower than that

This is like the Special Olympics of street racing.
It's going to be close...but you'll win.
His driving skill doesn't mean much, we're talking about two 17 second cars...it's kind of hard to botch the race.
Good luck

I have the same motor/year/ everything as you.
I don't know about that specific car.. I hate to say it.. but you might just get you a5s handed to you..
At least yours looks better!

Re: 87 Firebird 2.8lMPFI/ 93 Dynasty 3.3l
1990-93 Dynasty mumbo jumbo
Only a 4-cylinder engine and a 3.0-liter V6 had been available in 1988-89, but the 1990-93 Dynasty might have a 3.3-liter V6 instead. Base cars got the 100-horsepower 4-cylinder, whereas a Mitsubishi-built 3.0-liter V6 went into the LE and was optional in the base model. Built by Chrysler, the 3.3-liter V6 was an option for the LE. Four-cylinder cars got a 3-speed automatic transmission, but all V6 models had a 4-speed automatic.
ohc V6 3.0/181 HP-141 Torque-171 4-speed automatic: 21/28
ohv V6 3.3/201 HP-147 Torque-183 4-speed automatic: 20/26
I somehow don't think thats accurate, but who really buys a town car to race in....

There was a girl in high school who had a "die nasty", and that thing could scoot. If I were you I would pick your battles cause you always win first place in the looks department in a third gen

I'd honestly be careful. I've never driven a 3.3 but I've driven the Mitsushiti 3.0 in a dodge shadow (a little lighter than a dynasty but not much) and that thing could scoot. It couldn't take a 305 but I dunno about your 2.8, you've also gotta look at power to weight ratio.

I've driven our dealerships 3.3 powered short wheelbase caravan a few times. That thing is essentially a base model, stripped, nothing and the smallest one you could buy. I doubt it scales over 3,500 lbs. It is a DOG....My old 1987 GMC S15 Jimmy with the 2.8 TBI could walk it with ease.
Yeah, My brother gave him a run in his 97 Saturn. 1.9lDOHC CA Intake Premium Fuel. (Swears by it)
He walked it. All the way down main.
He put up maybe 85.

Re: 87 Firebird 2.8lMPFI/ 93 Dynasty 3.3l
its been a while since anyones commented on this but if you haven't raced him you should have no problem beating him. a buddy of mine had a dynasty before he got his camaro and i used to beat it with no problem with my 2.8 fiero. so if a 2.8 firebird can't do it then there's something wrong.

Fieros weigh 1176 kg (2590 lb) to 1265 kg (2790 lb) and the bird weighs around 3100 I would assume. Power to weight ratio plays in My money would still be on the dynasty.

Re: 87 Firebird 2.8lMPFI/ 93 Dynasty 3.3l
true. I'm not familiar with the 2.8 out of a firebird. whats the hp/tq? cause a dynasty can't be that much more i don't think. think the dynasty was maybe 170hp or something around there.

oh dear god... I joked in your other thread about the Civic that you'll probably race a Dodge Aries or Caravan next... and here you are, looking to race what pretty much ammounts to an Aries with an engine shared with a Caravan.
Is there anything we can do to get you to sell your car and go back to your Schwinn?
