Z28 cruised past new Challenger with paper tag plates doing about 80 mph to his 70 mph. Didn't think much of it until spotting the SRT8 badge on the right spoiler. SRT8 driver didn't engage until 2-3 miles down the road when he pulled up side-by-side and paced Z28 for a good 1/2 mile or so. Z28 dropped gear from 6th to 4th, SRT8 jumped and got the jump. RPMs to low in 4th, dropped to 3rd, pulled him in and had 3-4 cars on him before shifting into 4th and letting off.
SRT8 came back for more, Z28 was in 3rd this time and pulled instantly before letting off after being ahead by 2 cars then flashing brakes.

i love how you referred the camaro as "z28" im sure the srt8 was in shock
Our older cars have the low weight advantage #3300~ vs/ #4000 +??
Not sure if it was the 2011 Challenger which comes with more power?? Wouldn't have made too much of a difference. Anyone know what a modded(full-bolt ons, head & cam) SRT8 Charger or Challanger run?

Good kill! Pretty sure I have seen a few vids on youtube of full built hemi's going high 10's/low11's. They build big power all motor but they have to because they're in a tank, lol. The new ones are pretty cool though. Should be a decent run for a stock 5.0 stang.Originally Posted by Z28FAST1

Bingo - a buddy had an SRT Magnum a few years ago - damn thing weighed 4400lbs!!! Even though it was portly, it ran a few 12.9s at 110mph with a cat back and air intake - probably putting out 450hp. I was running 12.5 at 113mph with a 3500lb car and 400hp - faster with less hp and a worse 60' time.Originally Posted by whitedevilTA

God forbid if Dodge made the Challenger 3500lbs and put in the big Hemi - probably be able to run with an LS3 Vette...
I really like the Charger SRT8, there was one with simple bolt-ons and a 100 shot running down pullied cobras!!
I've been wanting to catch a run with a modded 5.0(bolt-ons) to see what the fuss is all about. I consider them marginally faster than the 5th gen Camaro.
