84 berlinetta vs 2000 Mustang

I currently have a 84 berlinetta V8 305 stock, and I am looking at a 2000 mustang coupe V6 stock. What is faster, and has more "power"
berlinetta V8: Horsepower: 150 @ 4000 Torque: 240 @ 2400
Mustang V6: Horsepower: 190 @ 5250 rpm Torque: 220 lb.-ft. @ 2750 rpm

looks like you answered your own question there. the v6 shows to have more power. but it will be more limited by mods, never have a v8 sound. and will be located in the engine bay of a mustang. A 84 camaro is a way cooler car.

Yeah, those V6's are pretty quick for what they are and they are also pretty similar in weight to third gens (convertible Mustangs are about 200 pounds heavier than the hardtops). However, I did run side by side in one in my 2000 Intrepid and neither one of us had the edge...I'll let you know what happens when I race one when my Camaro is running on all cylinders.

The V6 stang and the LG4 305 are both not very impressive cars stock honestly. Are you thinking about buying the V6 stang? Why don't you just opt for a GT instead? You have to be able to find one that will be maybe $1000 more than the V6. Even a mid 90's GT will be way faster than either of those cars and they are cheap nowadays.

The other thing is. 3.8 litre ford engines were never known as a good engine. The 305 although power lacking, is pretty reliable.
