GTA vs CTS (son vs father)

I had my fathers windows tinted for his 65th birthday. Dropped it off in the morning and picked it up after it was finished. Big smile on his face when he seen his 07 cts all clean with fresh tint.

On the way home he followed me back part way. Before we drove separate ways home i slowed down to 60kms to check out the tint in the sun light. lmao, what does he do? thinks its time to race me and mashes the gas, so a second late i do the same, i had some trouble passing him in his 3.6L.

ive driven his car only a few times and have always wondered about a race. This is an example to two cars that are very diffenent, cts top end friendly and my gta loves racing from a stand still. it would be a much different race from 0-160kms.

very impressed with his car!!

Re: GTA vs CTS (son vs father)

Nice I raced my dads V6 6mt accord and he was right next to me till about 55 then I very slowly pulled a little on him till we shut down around 75. I think if I had a different rear end other than the 3.73 he would have wrecked me.

Side note I think that 3.6 makes about 300hp right?

3.6 is something like 255hp but those cars rev a lot higher too with a 5spd auto makes the car move very well.

line my car up with this cts from a stop light and i would pull away with no problem. 1st gear should put me out at least 1 or 2 car lengths.

Nice I was thinking of the 3.6 performance option they offered. It just stuck in my mind because a friend of mine was recently driving a 6 speed version he borrowed from work.

3.6L Performance
Standard Engine 3.6L V6
Horsepower 304 @ 6400 RPM
Torque (lb-ft) 273 @ 5200 RPM

Re: GTA vs CTS (son vs father)

Awesome time man, wish my old man would ever race me lol. CTS's aren't all that though, I use to see a kid running around Akron in one that thought he was king **** and I wiped the floor with him in my SVX on two occasions and my car only ran high 14's at the time. Not sure what year it was or which motor it had, but it was a first gen like your dads.
