Don't know where else to post this so I hope this is the right areas.

So it looks like I'm up for a promotion (& more pay) and will be having a longer commute. I'm possibly looking at another used vehicle due to this. My problem is I can't really think of any cars that fit my preferences...this is where I need help!

I'd need something that gets better gas mileage than my Bonneville (about 18-20 mpg mixed/ mostly highway driving) but is sporty looking and quick. I just can't bring myself to buy a gas sipping Toyota Yaris or something even though I'd save on gas....I'd just be bored and hate it!

Prefer the car to be a manual transmission and I don't care if it's an import but it's gotta be reliable and not a fortune and impossible to fix.

The only cars that I actually have interest in so far are the 2000+ Toyota Celica GT-S, Audi TT Quatro, and Acura TL Type S and Nissan 350Z.

I can't find the GT-S, or TL in a manual and I know very little about Audi's except the people I work with that have Audi/VW products pay a ton for common repairs and maintenance.

Any input is appreciated....Trying to keep any payment to a minimum so no more that 13 grand and I have to be able to drive it all year...so that includes Buffalo winters (with snow tires if needed).

 

I love my GTP. Pretty quick for what it is.

If I did not buy the GTP I would have probably picked up a STI.

Do what I did, head to your local dealers. There is a medium sized dealer near me that has alot of mixed cars. I went there and looked around.

 

I used to sell cars and still know a bunch of people still in the business at different dealerships. I just don't want to bug them because I don't have a clue what I'd like.

I'd go for a WRX wagon but those too are rare in these parts.

How are the BMW 3 and 5 series as far as reliability and maintence cost (DIY if possible)... I'd be dead set on a GTO or 350Z but I don't think those will do too good in the snow.

I guess another possibility is the altima 3.5SE if I could find one with a manual transmission? I've always been around domestics but I used to sell Toyotas and Hyundai's.

 

I wouldn't touch a 3 or 5 series with a 10ft pole for a Daily.

I like the GTO, Some snow tires and granny driving and you can probably get through.

 

It's hard to drive a lot of cars on a daily basis because I've driven so many different cars that I'm spoiled, lol. Not much compares to the feel of the BMW. Why wouldn't you touch it?

 

Not really a fan of BMW's. Besides a E46 M3 but for a Daily I would not get one.

I looked hard into a TBSS, Eagle Talon, STI and even a Cobra a few weeks ago when looking for another car. I decided I just want something to get me to point A to point B and not another money pit. So I got the GTP.

Still there is a Black STI at a local dealer that I have been drooling over.

I say just get whatever you desire, weather it being FWD, AWD, RWD. I am very picky about cars and I am surprised I didn't pick up another 3rd gen for the winter knowing how I am..
