89 5.0 GT 5spd vs my 89 305TPI G92 5spd??
89 5.0 GT 5spd vs my 89 305TPI G92 5spd??
My friends swears he's gonna whoop my *** w/ his 89 5.0 GT, 5spd, 2.73's, and the only mod being flowmaster catback. They put out 225hp and 300ft/lbs and my 89 305, G92, 5spd, 3.45, w/ minor mods(posted) puts out 230hp and 300ft/lbs stock. I know the camaro is heavier and the ford EFI is rev happy, but with my gearing, pretty much equal power...plus a few of my mods, I think I can take him. Plus we have $100 riding on this one.
Oh yeah, whats the 0-60 & 1/4 times for the 89 stang 5spd and 89 305 G92 5spd camaro??? THANKS

Man, you run a 14.5 stock at about 94mph. Don't fret. I don't even powershift my car and I woop *** on all the 5.0s I've raced except for one. The gears are greatly matched with our engines, GM did a terrific job on the G92's, expect a 2-3 car lead by you. I raced a 94-95 5spd w/headers and exhaust and he started catching up in 2nd but I hit 3rd and just walked away.

You will kill him off the line since he has 2.73s, but I wouldnt race him at high speed. He will have crappy acceleration from 0-60, but 60-120 he will probably have much better acceleration than you. Also, for some reason, the ford roller block 302's rev really fast and really high, even in stock form. YM friend has an 88 mustang 5.0 5spd, and it will rev to 7 grand like its nothing, especially in 1st and 2nd.

my stock 305 tpi formula with 3.23 and auto walked all over 88-89 stangs right off the line and it only got worse for them as I went. They always got pissed and claimed I had a 350 just because they think all 305 f-bodys run like beatup 305 carbed 277 geared ones. now they think its a 383 what will they say when that finally gets droped in 454? stupid 302s
you will walk all over him. you most likely would have walked all over my 305
