87-93 Mustang vs My Camaro

It's a beautiful day, about +27 degrees Celsius outside with the sun shining and the chicks only half-clothed. I'm on my way to drop a computer off I had just fixed for a client of mine.

I pull up to the red light, turn up the Godsmack and mellow out waiting for it to turn green. I casually glanced in my mirrors to catch a glimpse of a hottie walking by when I see a white Mustang (87-93) pull up behind me. First thing I noticed, it sat lower in the front. Great, another case of domestic rice, or so I thought.

Light turns green, and I'm off following a truck just cruising. I'm not rev'ing or anything, just cruising and enjoying the car and the tunes. Then, the Mustang pulls out from behind me and pulls into the free lane beside me and I hear a "Vrroommmmm" coming from it beside me. "What the f@ck? That sure as hell doesn't sound like a 2.3L!" I think to myself. He takes off beckoning me to follow.

So I hang back about 5 car lengths behind him and we go through traffic (Doing about 100KM/H). Then, the light ahead turns red. Instantly, the Mustang darts into the left lane which leaves me with the right lane.

No rev'ing was needed, we both knew what was next as we sat waiting for the light to change. I bring my rev's to 2000 with a nice brake torque as the other light turns yellow. Once ours turns green I slam down and release the brake. ****, they JUST paved this intersection and I have ZERO traction here. Both of us sit spinning for a second or two, and I take him out of the hole. He catches up and we're neck and neck, with him pulling ahead ever so slightly. I'm at his rear bumper and next thing I know, I hear a loud chirp and the Mustang's rear pulls to the side. I knew I was done for. By the time we reached 120KM/H he had about 3-4 lengths on me.

Both of us cruise down to the speed limit, and exchange waves at the set of lights as he turns right. When I see him turn, I see some big (Well, sticking well out of the wheel well) tires on the back, a Flowmaster sticker (And it definetely was a Flowmaster, damn that was loud), and a Comp. Cams sticker.

At least he was modified. I'm thinking though, if I could come this close to him and he had AT LEAST exhaust (NOT stock at all), should I be able to take a stock 5.0L?

Anyways, I hope ya guys enjoyed the story. Hell, I've been pumped the last hour just thinking about it.
