Fu(k Saleen's. $37,000 for a 13.4@106, I think not. Why not just buy a 98+ 4th gen, put on an incon TT kit, run 10's, and spent the money you have left on asian prostitutes . IMHO

If I had that money I'd have a camaro SS that would smoke that car stock and add some mods just to really twist the knife in a little further..hehe

If I had that kind of money to put into a car I'd have a 9 second 5.0 that looked twice as good as any Saleen. Saleen's are a huge waste of money IMHO.

The only reason I would buy it is because hardly anyone has one. But yeah for the money I would buy a new SS or TA and be running 12's.

What are you really asking? The Saleen is a tuner car. They took a Ford Mustang GT, added a suspension, wheels, tires, a supercharger, ground effects, etc. It's also a "limited edition" car. It may not be a Pro Stock drag car, but it probably handles corners as good as a Corvette.

Hmm, I always thought the difference between Saleen's and other was Mustangs was that the Saleen got a 351. Oh well, guess I was wrong.

The saleen did get the 351C with a supercharger in 94 and 95 I believe and those cars were making some serious horsepower If I remember correctly. The newer one's get the dinky 4.6 liter supercharged which is fast but I'd take an LS1 which could blow it's doors off.

If I had 27 in 5 digit form...hehehe....the last detail I would add to my cutlass would be a sticker across the front windshield that spelled death backwards. My cutlass would be running 12s, my ltd 14s or 15s, my brothers truck 14s or 15s, his dart 13s, then we'd use the rest to find an old rickedy charger to mod. That is if vehicles were the only thing on my mind.

For $37 000 US

(Thats like at least $55 000 CAN)

Pick up the ugliest damn car like.

A Toyota Echo

Soup the **** out of it and then go pick on each and every Saleen. Oh yeah and don't forget the "Saleen's Suck" sticker in the front windshield.

Just a thought. A Twin Turbo Caddy STS.

I think its too much money, but I like Saleen more, because I just bought brand new leather seats from them for $500. The one thing with the Saleen is that with a blower pulley upgrade, and some tires you get an 11 second car that will let you play your CDs, take corners at tremendous speeds, and still have the warranty.

Saleen produced the S351 all the way up through 1998. This was a roots blown 351W and produced 495 hp. THIS Saleen is not a waste of money.

Now, the only [semi-affordable] Saleen produced is the S281. A supercharger is optional (leading to the $37k price tag), and like 89Stang said, it's not a half bad car, but I could find a lot better things to do with my $37k.

Saleen also produces the S7, which is ~ $325,000-375,000. I can't remember the exact $ figure, but this thing is a beast. It's a 600 hp (thereabout) aluminum block 427 that is so aerodynamic that Saleen claims it could "go 200mph on it's roof". If you're ever board and want to see an awesome car, head to Saleen's Website and check this beast out.

I don't know if I'd do it or not. If you're spending that much it's all about the image. Most chicks don't care how fast your car goes. All they care about is how it looks and what the name says. I can blow the doors off any BMW on the road, but I've never had girls jump in my car because it says Formula on it. Remember, "Nothing says money like a car that won't run."
