I've heard of some people taking their car to a landfill and using their scales to weigh the car, not exactly sure how you do that, I'm sure you have to be sneaky about it.

My 82 z weighed 3475, its not the same but its close, it has fiberglass hood, no emmisions, Aluminum 4 speed trans, 1/4 tank fuel, t-tops, headers, side exaust. This was weighed on a certified grain scale.

with me in the car, my subwoofer, passenger seat, and about 1/2 tank of gas, my car weighed in at 3470.

I've got a 92 Z28 with a 350... but it's been modified from stock...

sorry, I didn't really answer your question... my big weight savers was the glass hood, alum heads, no emissions, alum water pump, and a swap from the 700R4 to the T5 (big weight saver). other weight savers include minor things like taking out the insulation and such.

btw, my weight also includes a Players Challenge Roll Cage, and I weigh about 190lbs.

Sorry if I haven't answered your question, but maybe you can gauge it from there
