Danmit! How can I get more traction with OUT slicks???

I'm tired of this ****, just lost to a 2001 GT twice (beat him once) and I'm tired of babying it off the line.

So what can I do to my car (which is basically stock right now) to make it hook outta the hole without adding slicks??

measure out the wheel wells and get the absolute fattest tires you can shoehorn in there, or also you can run the BFG drag radials,

You can use BFG Drag ta's or Nitto 555r's. I would prefer the Nitto's on an everyday driver, not as sticky as the Drag ta's but will last much longer.

Yeah I've tried all different ways but I'm tired of babying it.

Anything 5 or so mph and under if I go full throttle then I break them loose and spin spin spin for 20 ft.

get ahold of some LCA relocation brackets. and if you can new LCA's. they will make a HUGE diffrence on how well you hook up.

What kind of tires do you have? I used to have Goodyear Eagles on my car and had bad traction probs off the line. I traded up for some Pirelli P7000's and now I can barely squeak the tires on the street when it's dry and clean. I can now launch WOT instead of babying it.

But my local track is more slick than the street, so the tires don't work as well there. I guess i need some DR's for that but in the street I love how well the hook.

If you go with Bfgoodrich drag radials for your daily driver you will wear them out in no time. My tires did not even last 5000 miles. The thing is this tires give you great traction at the track and on the street they just don't last long.

2 things to make you HOOK:
LCA relocation brackets and poly bushings in the LCAs!
If you do that and have posi, you'll have plenty of traction for the street. If you go to drag radials you'll probably want to get a Spohn torque arm and stronger LCAs. First things first, get the relocation brackets.
I have mine but haven't had a chance to weld em up. Everybody will agree, the relocation brackets are a must for any thirdgen

There is also the option of Quick Time Pros, or ET Streets, which are almost like a slick with grooves cut in it. They hook like a slick and have that all important DOT stamp on them. Just don't get caught in the rain with them on.

I wish I knew about Goodyear Eagles before I bought a couple for my car. They were used and I paid $50 for the pair, so I guess it was a decent deal. They are almost new. The guy said they "fell" off the truck. But I now know that getting grip with these tires is a bitch. I wont be buying anymore Eagles.

You need some Lower Control Arms and a Panhard Bar from Spohn. They will help out alot for under $200.

Well after getting 4 new goodyear eagle GSC tires I have to say my traction is amazing now! With a combo of LCA relocation brackets and poly bushings in the LCA and torque arm I can launch at 4000 rpm with no wheel spin at all.
