240 SX

A friend at work just bought a 240 SX, I'm not sure of the year or engine(sorry I haven't asked yet. I do know that it's a 5 speed and a turbo, which kinda surprised me. Anyway, he took it to the track and got a best of 16.004. He said he couldn't hook up all night. Could he possibly get in to the 15's with some minor tuning. Oh, and to keep this related, could I beat him with my stock L03?

Is your L03 a stick or an auto? Assuming its a stick, 100% stock, and its running well it should be a good race, however i'd give him the nod.

My newest Ride:

'85 Silver L98 Corvette w/4+3 manual tranny. not bad for $3500.

A set of drag radials ought to get him deep in the 15 second range.

240SX's didn't come with turbos. They had around 155-165 hp, and a 16 is about right from what I've seen at the track. With a turbo, it would be much faster. I don't know why he's having trouble "hooking up", because the 240SX one of the only RWD imports.

SPOOM is right, no factory 240 turbos, but japans version is a turbo 180 (i think that's what it's called) that's super quick. 16's sounds correct for a 240, even w/ some mods. My buddy had a 99 w/ aftermarket turbo that went 13.9's @ 100mph though....cost a good chunk of change though to get there!

Basicalyy he said he kept spinnig the tires, it's probably because he just got the car and still hasn't adjusted to it. Oh and my car is an auto soon to be stick(hopefully). I was going to try and go to the track w/him on Friday.
