One of my friends has an 85 Camaro with the LG4 with an auto tranny. My other friend has an 89 Dodge Daytona with the 2.2L turbo and a 5-speed. I haven't ridden in the Daytona. But who do you think would win? Are the turbo Daytonas fast? Thanks.

if it's a daytona shelby with the turbo II, he'll smoke the camaro. those things put out like 175 horse and over 200 torque. they're also probably like 1000 lbs lighter. i used to have one of those before i got my camaro. if i had a race between that and my lg4 camaro, i'd bet on the daytona any day.
on the other hand, if it's the turbo I, they only put out like 145 hp and 175 torque. if that's all the car has, the camaro should take it.
*EDIT* i just looked it up, and they weigh like 2800 lbs, but that's still like 500-600 lbs difference.

Diabolical speaks the truth
If its the common turbo you've got him, if its the good one, you might be in trouble.
I know this guy with a modded SOCH turbo auto daytona that ran a 13.6 last time i saw it run at the track though, just to warn ya

My buddy has one of those things. Its a 88 or 89 I think. He has the 5 speed, and the boost cranked up so it feels pretty fast. I still beat him by about 4-5 lengths with my automatic LB9. It might be enough to take you though. I wouldnt put money on the race if I were you.
Thanks for the replies. He has the regular turbo Daytona ES. On a side note, it's my friend that has an LG4 Camaro. I don't need to worry about racing either of them because I know I could take both their asses :-) Ahh, gotta love the 355. Thanks again.
