difference between a grand national and a gnx

what is the difference between a grand national and a gnx, i heard that its mostly
suspension and that they were able to out-handle corvettes in that year, but were there
differences in the performance?
also, i have heard that to get replacement
parts, or even decals for them, you must supply the vin number to the parts dep.-is
this true or bs.
lastly, does any one know how many were made
and in what years?

Ok the rear suspension removed the upper control arms for the Torque arm set up. Better springs and shock with 16 in wheels, the fender flares were for clearance.

The interior has a TOTALLY different dash made up of SW gages and the dash plate said GNX and its Number.

The TURBO had a ceramic impeller, and the intercooler was 12 fin per in vs the GN's 10 fin per in.
Chip was different as well as had a little more boost from the factory.

YES to order a specific GNX part you have to supply the Vin number, each GNX owner was issued a book with the part number sin it as well.

No they didnt out handle the corvette but youd like the ride, BIG diff froim the stock GN, some say due to the wheel/tire combo.
