You will get your *** spanked so hard you'll feel it for months. A Turbo Trans Am is good for mid 13's bone stock. Your 76 4 banger 'Stang is good for what 20's?

That's no way to treat a fellow muscle car enthusiast, it is still a Mustang even if it's a 4 cylinder engine...

BUT the TTA was the fastest production third gen F-body... with a slight up in boost of the turbo you're looking at the tail lights of a mid 12 second car.

Whoa, lay down the crack pipe junior.

How do you figure a 76 2.3L Mustang will beat a Turbo T/A? That's the crack talking right?

The 89 TTA will run mid 13 second quarter second miles bone stock!

Your car probably completes the quarter mile in 23 seconds. Seriously.

That car will walk all over you like you are standing still.

You better save that money from the TT 351 and put it towards Burn Therapy costs, because this post is going to be nothing short of up in flames!

Hey man.

One question, why is his TTA white trash?

Anyway your gonna get spanked bad. I thought my first car was fast too (115 HP)

Then I got spanked in it a few times (Won some too though)and now I got my IROC and I realize 115 Hp is nuttin.

Still got my first car, mint shape, and my winter car

Race some more cars and you will get a feeling how fast yours is

The "mods" that will give you a noticable gain in perf. will cost you WAY more than you'd want to put into a 2.3!!!

look at the sig, can you guys get scratch in third like that?

A friend of mine back in High school had a Pinto that would get 3rd, big deal, those 'Stang II's and Pinto's are light in the A$$ end!! But, that Pinto also had a B&M clutch.

Even if you did get around to dropping in a 351 into your 'Stang II You'd never get the thing to hook up! The same guy I mentioned above with the Pinto, had a '77 Cobra with a stout 302. With wide tires on the rear, and traction bars, it would get NO grip untill half way through 3rd. Like I said, TO LIGHT IN THE A$$ END!!!!
Good luck with the project, but after you see how much it cost's, you'll find you could have built a Chevy thats twice as fast for the same amount of cash!! !!!

Go here: http://www.racerwalsh.com/ , many 2.3 Hi-Perf parts

There are no Civic Type R's. It just a regular civic with stickes. If one beat you then it's just sad. Modded civics are no challenge to me. 2.3L Mustangs are slow!!! I used to own one and regret it. I had a 1990 with a 2.3L and 88HP and it ran 21.1 in the 1/4 mile. (i got dared to race it). Hard as it is to say it to another mustang owner but you have one of the slowest Fords ever made...with the Mustang name on it.

Good luck with 30psi of boost from twin turbos. I looked into a twin turbo 302 before. After seeing the TONS of fab work I needed to do I sold the 2 turbos I had aquired. I hope you can weld up custom exhaust and inlet pipes

As for scratching 3rd in the sig...........no comment

Not to be rude, you're either 12 or know jack crap about cars. You could slap TT on the Mustang and that TTA would still kill you. Now if you put the 351 in and build it up w/ TT, then I say you got him. But if you're friend has skinnies on the front with wide tires, then I'm thinking he has some mods, do you know? And you said a Civic pulled on you, what do you think that TTA will do. Oh, I do have one question though, I though a 351 Windsor is better than a Cleveland, but that's something I thought I heard a long time ago so I could be wrong. Anyone know?

A 351 with twin turbos, I'd like to see that and 30lbs of boost? Where are you getting your turbos and boost controls? I think your just pulling a junk engine out of an old pick up in the trees. If you could make your car run on pure stupidity you would have it made.

as far as the civic, trust me it had some mods. it had a big muffler and it sounded sweet. as for the response to how old i am, im 19, why would you think im 12? and yes i know about cars, its just that im getting started in this thing. the only real difference in know between the cleveland and the windsor is that the cleveland is the big block and the windsor is a small block. im getting a 351 cleveland for christmas that needs some work then after that ill be saving for my twin turbos. to the guy who talked about traction with pintos, who the heck wants to fix up a pinto, they are heynus! gimme a break. what would it take for me to take the tta with the set up i have now? im tired of barely losing to people. also, lay off of the body kit its gonna look good k

I hate to burst your bubble, but the Mustang II was based on the Pinto. So there are many similarities between the two. They look quite similar. They shared the same engine.

As far as getting a setup to take the TTA, it probably won't happen. Check out the performance parts page that was listed above. The amount of mods you are going to be spending to beat that TTA, means you could buy a completely new-used car I bet.

Wow Cody
that was harsh. But really, do you have any idea how slow you car is? Have you even raced anyone? Try racing ANY car made past 1990 and you dont have a chance. As for your project 351TT good luck. When you start looking into parts I'm sure you will decide it'll cost way too much. Why not go with a 460? It'd probably be easier/cheaper than a 351TT. I have strange feeling that you wont touch the car...but make sure to get that body kit installed

I was going to say that Mustang resembles a pinto. I was being sarcastic about the age thing. It would take your car right now to have TT and a 300shot of nitrous to keep up with that TTA. Do they even make body kits for your Mustang. And you think a Civic sounds good, good *** man. My lawnmower sounds the same. But good luck on the TT351.

I understand your car isn't all that yet, but you started off by asking what can be done to it right now to keep up with the TTA. You won't with any current mods until the new motor.

Park your 'Stang II next to a Pinto, The only difference is the nose piece and the taillights!! Everything under your Stang is the exact same thing thats under a Pinto. The Stang II is just an upgraded Pinto!!
The 351 Cleveland idea...BWAAHAAHAAHAA, I hope you enjoy cutting up inner fenders , a Windsor bearly clears! You see, the Windsor is a bit taller and wider at the top than a 302, the exhaust for the Windsor in a II is WAY tight, a Cleveland...forget it.

If you want to compete with the turbo T/A by modding your present set-up you need to get a couple hundred bucks and hit the army suplus stores and try and find some JATO rockets to strap to the top of your car, this should help you blow away the TTA.
By the way I didnt tell you to do that.

Just to re-emphasize the myth about big mufflers... they probably add 5 Hp to those Hondas and everybody has them... I see them on probably 80% of the imports in the parking lot and there are very few that I whouldn't laugh at if they pulled up next to me at a light.

I think this guys just screwin around, I'm not even coming back to this thread its not worth my time. Wait, why am i posting then?

BTW the Mustang 2 is like, IMO, just about the most white trash car ever made, they all belong in junkyards. Even the builtass ones are butass ugly and trailer trash looking.

I'm outa here. Get a life.

to no one's surprise i raced the tta today and boy o boy did he blow my doors off! we raced on the freeway and he let me get about a ten second head start and it didnt take long before he flew right past me. boy those are sweet cars! my mustang was barely even reaching 90 and i think he must have been doing at least 130 when he passed me. i thought i stood a better chance on the freeway instead of light to light, but wow was i wrong about the tta! now i see what you guys are talking about. why the heck is everyone being so rude anyways?

OK... Its not that people are being rude (well maybe) but, look at the post. All in all, your basically asking if a Rustang II aka. PINTO will beat a TTA. Granted, you may not know much, or anything about the F-Bodys... but for christ sakes man... a PINTO? The name of the TTA says it all... T-U-R-B-O T-R-A-N-S A-M. Unfortunately, you found out how fast it was the hard way. Oh and another thing... about the "WHITE TRASH TURBO TRANS AM" remark; I wouldnt go saying that on a board composed of Trans Am/Camaro owners such as myself.

Just be carefull what you say.
