It looks like your plans are well thought out as long as mods. But I'm going to go with the Deville, does that have the Northstar, if so he'll kill you. But I say he's still got at least a few tenths on you. Those cars may be driven by old people, but they got some get up and go.

In the 1/4 mile according to most of the reviews I've read a Deville runs a 15.0. Not sure what an 87 Z28 runs.

Wow, then I would say he has a second on you or 10 car lengths, I'm guessing your car will run 16.0 . However, there are many variables, it could be +- who knows, until you race.

Easy now,
I beat a new ('00) deville with my 305tpi/auto. It was fast, but I pulled on him in 1st gear and he couldnt make up the difference. The race was from a stop to about 85mph. I know I ran a 15.0@ 91.5 at the track, but that was a year before I raced this guy.

peace

What year was your 305tpi, most of them ran mid 15's stock, unless you got like a 91 or 92 or maybe one with the G92 option. Just asking, did you have any mods.

Its a 85 LB9, stock heads, stock cam, exhaust manifolds, auto, 3.27. At the time the only mods were a high flow muffler (stock int. pipe), and an airfoil. The 87 should actualy have an edge on me because its a roller motor. I think many people have cars that are in poor tune that make everyone think 305's are a lot slower than they really are.

BigAl,
If your car in good tune, it should be a good race. I wouldnt put money on it though because it was close

The trouble the Deville will have is hooking up those front tires from a stop. For a short distance, I bet you'll pull him, but after the Northstar builds up steam and hooks up, look out.

I was driving my friend's grandpa's 99 deville and raced a lincoln LS with it from 70mph. I won till the governor kicked in at 112.

That caddy deville would never hit 170. They have governors and aren't exactly aerodynamic.
