It is generally a bad Idea to try, in most cases DON'T DO IT! If you can lose the cops with one move then I guess it's not that bad... but don't go on a high speed chase that is pure stupidity.

I did once make a maneuver which would have lost the cop behind me... it was a pretty slick lane change and speed reduction going around a turn at night in the rain... I don't think he was coming after me though.

I tried to ditch one once in my Mom's car, I was doing like 90 down the main road. Saw the cop make a u-turn so I pulled into a small shopping center. Not long after so did he. He thought I had something illegal in the car since I tried to ditch him. Luckily though all I got was a warning. I think he was on his way to work or something.

I tried the same thing oneday while driving back to Va Tech. Cop caught me doing 74 in a 45, I saw him look and slow down so I ducked into the nearest convenience store and acted like I'd been there for a while getting a drink. He made me sit in his car while he gave me a 30 minute lecture, but thankfully I was still 2 weeks or so from my 18th birthday so he let me off because he "didn't like going to juvenile court." I think it's more along the lines that in the state of VA the state police can't ticket you if they radar you while they're going over the speed limit too.

I used to have a GSXR1100 and rode with two Seattle cops. We used to always out run the law...Very Stupid! I sold the thing because i'm a paramedic and have seen first hand what can happen when you ride like we were riding. Although it was extremely fun, it is not worth the risk of riding a bike at high speeds! And definately, not worth the risk of jail time adn loosing my job because I decided to try and out run the law!

Yeah, I smoked a cop in my old Fiero 2M6 late one night in 1987 on a back road. I really ran away from him quite well. Then about 4 miles up the road, his two buddies set up a road block and got me. I'll never do that again!

Those radios sure do accelerate!
