2006 Stang Vert vs Modded 98 Eclipse
I was coming home from work last night, did my grocery shopping, got Halo 4, was a good evening. Well I pull up to the light at the bypass and had to wait for traffic go through when the light for the turnings went green, I eased up to the ped crosswalk waiting for my light to turn when a black slammed Eclipse with an aggressive idle pulled. The driver I could tell was inspecting my wife's car. The light never went green so I backed it up over the loop sensors. I hear a loud whine like a pissed off crackling yellow jacket. This guy actually wants to race. I didn't pay him any mind when the light turned green, he took off and was about 4 car lengths ahead when I said 'Frock it' and hammered it. With those 4.0L's you can tell when you hit the power band, it pulls almost as hard as a 3rd gen from a dig. I started gaining fast and by 60 I passed him, I let it go at 80 but he just didn't stop so when he was with my rear quarter I floored it again and kept neck with him for a second until I passed him at I'd say about 95 and I just walked him up to 120 when I had enough and shut it down.
I never have been a big fan of Mustangs until I was forced to drive my wife's car...now it wouldn't bother me if she upgraded to a GT.

non turbo Eclipses are 16+ plus second cars. If you passed him at higher speeds rather then on the low end then it was not boosted.
He probably races the 3.8 mustangs and wins though.

must have been a 420a eclipse and not a 4g63 turbo car.
I have a few mods on my '90 awd tsi talon and running 18lbs boost. From a dig its brutal off the line. and from an 80mph roll out on I75 Im cruzing at almost 4k rpm. Boost come on the instant I put the pedal down. 80-120+ goes by quick very quick.
I've embarrassed a few v8's of all makes , etc..
Its easy for these 4g63 motors to put down 300+ AWHP with simple mods. 350+ isnt unheard of with evo3 turbo , etc...
