86 Z28 Vs. 99 Civic

okay well my car has been sitting for a little while now 7 months or something like that.. Well I had a nasty exhaust leak and really bad misfires so I repaired all of that only to hear that my car is now Ticking.. So, I pulled it out went to a gas station and went to a mechanic were he said I would be better off just trashing my 305 and dropping a 350. Im coming home from after hearing the news of my motor being pretty much scrap, and this little civic pulls up revving and bucking at me I just kinda EL o EL about it and decided what the hell the motor is getting swapped anyway and I just completely blow him out of the water by about 2.5 cars.. Man these chevys motors just never wanna die huh? Anyways sorry for the long story..

Lol right on man! Idk I mean I understand that some Hondas out there are quick when done right but for those kids that think an intake and fart cannon make them fast I love picking on them.. and I normal don't ever brag about betting a Honda but I just think its funny that I dusted him with a knocking engine

Yeah. That vid was in my 1996 bone stock GMC Jimmy with over 200K miles. I was racing a K series Honda which is the biggest thing in Honda right now and I pulled right away from him.

I pick on Honda's every chance I get Begging that I'd find a ridiculous turbo civic.

but it seems like they only exsist on youtube or in places that people have the cash to build truly fast cars

So true. I noticed awhile back alot of people on craigslist selling their "fast" hondas and were looking to upgrade/trade toward a car with 4 more cylinders (camaros/mustangs/any other V8 in this class). Guess they figured it would be better to build off a V8 and get REAL results rather than invest thousands upon thousands to get their honda somewhat fast.

Not a honda, but I had a friend ask if I wanted to race him in his little miata. He had such a shark grin. I ask him what's in the bay and he says "ohhh nothin, just a lil ol LS1." I smile back and politely say no thanks ^_^b

Glad the 305 won. It would have been a sad day if it lost.

nice kill! my buddy had an 87 GTA 305 TPI (before it caught fire and burned to death) and we took off on a early 2000's civic had him by a few lengths. my 305tbi WOULD NOT DIE! it was crazy slow and ran like a pig, but I beat on that thing every day ! lol but I cant wait to get my 383 on the street for my first honda, and vette kill.

its cool I don't need to take a road trip to get smoked. I'll just settle for being cannon fodder for wrx/sti's

There are plenty of those here to up on the college campus. The wrx's arent scary at all unless they have been really modded with and most guys with sti's wont actually launch them (5K clutch dump) so they just bog out of the hole.

Thats impressive because I don't think my 70K mile 5 speed 4.3L jimmy could outrun a moped. That thing is damn slow.

hate to say it, but i dont think that civic had a k swap. you dont hear the vtec kick in, and, if it did, he shifted reeeeeaaaaal early.

(btw, incase you wonder how i know, i have a daily gsr with work, so i know what vtec sounds like, ijs.)

Lol that's true, he said it was the new one though and the older k and b series motors are better, it was probably auto as well

Yea your right probably the 160hp 18 second 1/4 accord because the V6 would have stomped a jimmy
