Pulling G's at a local airport
I wonder if anyone else has asked their local small airport for permission to use their large flat asphalt field for testing their own machines?
I'll soon be at the point where I want to do testing where it might be unsafe to try on the public roads.
My '86 IROC has some nice fat tires, a new posi rearend with different gear ratio than stock and soon some brembo brakes from a 2015 Corvette.
I want to test it safely to see when it starts to loose grip in different conditions. Also I want to make videos.
Anyone ever thought of this or tried it?

I work for an international airport and we manage a couple general aviation airports too. The GA airport is what you are talking about. Short answer is no way. Now if you got a club together the answer would still be no way BUT over time and giving examples of how other clubs do this the no way might change to a maybe.
FYI In central FL the SCCA has auto-X at Deland on an abandoned portion of their airstrip. http://cfrsolo2.com/

I kept an airplane hangared at F70 for several years, so my gate key granted me access to the tarmac. There is no tower, so it was no big deal to find a quiet corner to fool around in a car at night. No f'ing way would I ever have been given permission if I had asked. The key points were to never, ever get near the runway or active taxiways.
Instead, just find a large parking lot at a shopping mall or industrial park and use it after hours.
