suffered my first loss!!!

Im not to mad that i lost my first little race because i know the car was worthy. My buddy who has a 3000gt vr-4 always wanted to race me and i finally gave in when i was about to put my car away for the winter. well i did keep it even right throught the first two gears but as soon as his turbos really kick in i never had a chance. His car has exhaust a ton of work done to the engine and a programable lap top right in the car so he can change the settings of his engine and turbo form the car. I expected to lose but hey my car kept up with him till the end and i know for a fact that his car was more that triple mine so im not that mad. just thought i would share a story of a loss... but i will be back and i plan on getting even soon.

What kind of car/engine work do you have? It must be pretty good to hang with a VR-4 I haven't raced one yet, but I've driven a few and they're nice.

Actually his most of his boost should've been in by 3000 RPMs in 1st gear, so you were keepin up with him power wise if he wasn't getting much ahead. Stock ones hit full boost about there at least, then it levels out. How hard did he launch also? And whats done to yours! A worked 3kGt is a fast car, boost controller, full exhaust, clutch, and fuel pump upgrade can get those things near 12s with a good driver!

I've got a built 355 with headers and exhaust. i dont know the exact numbers on the engine but it makes some REAL GOOD POWER for its size. the vr-4 had work done to the turbo and he put in a bigger turbine or somthing.. i dont really understand turbos.. but it killed his low end torque but gave him unbelevable horsepower. also im pretty sure he didnt get a good launch because i jumped ahead right away but the immediatly caught me.

Yeah, if he's running larger turbos (twin turbo car) that will kill some of his low end, but once they spin up they'll come on strong. Still though, you've definately gota fast car!
