Damn eagle talon TSI

ok, we raced twice. one from like 50 mph and one from 10 mph. from 50 mph, he got a little jump and had me by about 1/2 a car. we slowed down at about 80 with no loss or gain on either of our parts. the next light was red and we began slowing down. it turned green when we were doing about 10mph. i spun for about 1 sec and he took off, turbos going nuts. he got about 1-1 1/2 cars in front of me and cut me off at like 45 mph. those cars can move....

Ya they go pretty good. My friend with a '96 TSI AWD ran a 14.00 with nothing but a air filter, first gen blow off valve and a homemade boost control. The total cost was probably about $200 bucks. I ran a 14.34 with exactly the same mods but I was only launching at 4000. He was driving alot harder. They are pretty easy to get into the 13's without too much money. With these cars it's all in the launch. I pulled a 1.8 60 ft and he pulled a 1.7 on stock tires and the stock clutch. The clutch and the drivetrain can actually take quite a bit of abuse if you don't make it a habit of doing a 6000 rpm launch at every stop light. Just do it when you need it. Thanks guys.

Curt, all you need to do is cam that LG4 and have a little work done to the heads.I could do both for you for the small fee of $200 or just the heads(cleaned, valves resurfaced and 3 angle valve job) for $175. Then you can go cruisin' and find that Eagle talon and kick his a$$. I'll do the heads and the cam for you and then you and Matt can race. HAHAHAHA!!!

You've got to be joking!!! You didn't teach me how to work on cars, my dad did! He might let you use the ratchets and stuff for free but he will still charge you for the head work. Matts heads were a christmas present. Besides, which one of us has actually changed a cam before?

yeah, ok. your dads not gonna charge me if i ask him to use his valve grinder. he was the one who offered to help me do the rear with my car. and by the way, the only reason you did the cam was because matts car stalled in your driveway and your dad wanted the bird gone!

done nothing!!! yeah my dad will help you with the rear, but the valve machine isn't going to pay for itself. call him up and ask him your self, he will tell you you can't use the valve machine for free. and about matt's cam, who else would have done even if it didn't stall in my driveway?
