GT500 super snake
Was leaving a cars and coffee and a guy with a 2012 or so GT500 super snake (825hp) pulled up next to me on the highway. We mutually took off from a roll around 40 mph or so. I started in 3rd and lifted at the top of 4th (going way too fast). We were dead nuts neck and neck with me pulling ever so slightly at the very end (he may have lifted). We exchanged thumbs up and were on our way. Temperature was in the low 60's and my car felt like a missle. Truly at its peak.
For reference, in June (85 degree day) I made 502 rwhp on a mustang dyno pulling vacuum at rpm with dragging brakes. Both issues are corrected and I'm likely at 520 or more now. Race was super fun. 3rd gens are so light and are down right scary with the right set-up.

That's impressive, those cars are not slow!
I think you'll be surprised how fast the car is in the back half of the 1/4 mile. A good running 3rd gen with a T56 can really move at 100+ mph.
3rd gear at 40 mph??

Re: GT500 super snake
I know right. He slowed down so I could get next to him and he downshifted but I can't really hear anything over my car. I am terrified that I am going to explode the 10 bolt so I trying not to do any aggressive downshifts at slower speeds. I do however need to mess with my suspension. The rear end is hooked and feels good, but over 100 and front end gets all kinds of loose. I am not sure if its the non square tire setup, mismatched front and rear springs or what but my steering gets really loose and the front end feels light. Brakes work good though........

Plus side is you don't even flinch in the slightest and remain totally unimpressed if somebody revs at you.Reminds me when a co-worker with a 5th gen SS said he revved at me a bunch of times on the highway and I didn't take bait. I just had to trust his word on that one.... I have no clue what he was talking about, didn't hear a thing.
