Well since the 83 isn't bone stock considering it has a 350 in it and 350's were not a factory option on the thirdgen until 87. I say it all depends on what 350 motor he has in his car. If it's an "economy" edition one from the late 70's to 81' then you've got a standing chance with those mods against him and my money would be on you. But if it's a thirdgen 350 motor guessing it has atleast over 200 hp stock i don't see you beating him.

Alot of 350 guys always think they can beat a 305 just because they have a 350. But the 305 guys don't have the traction problems like the 350 guys. If he can't get the power down on the start then I think you would have him. Believe me I know from experience

he says it is the one from the 70's to 81 camaro, but is that an LT-1, he said it was an LT-1 and that was in the 70 to 81, i am not positive on this and think he is wrong, he bs's a lot of stuff. is he right. how much hp is he pushin with each of these motors, and how much would it be from a 3rd gen 350. my car has 150 stock, kinda punny but o well, and with those mods i too would probably be pushin 200. wouldn't i, bout 30 from headers and exhaust maybe 20 or so from cam and roller rockers, and some from intake???? am i wrong. anyway, thanks and i hope to hear more with the updated info

hes probably bulls**ting you, because the LT1 motor was only availible up to and including the 72' model year, not 81'. He probably told you he has a LT1 because its considered the fastest 350 offered by the factory in the musclecar era. Most likely he got it out of a 70s van or something. Race him and find out. Good luck.
