time to eat a truck.

SS style Chevy. Big auto meter super tach.

He sorta had blocked the pumps when I was trying to get gas. Not gassing up (just sitting there for 30mins according to the guy inside).

I come back out, get in the car and start it, the guy started the truck and pulls out on the road, real slow.. Then flaggs me down and says lets run.

I gas it in first.. tires roast. Miss second gear. Finnally after traffic clears I give him the bust and then start walking away in second.

hes still gassing it beside me like he can almost take me.

We go again from about 30 and i slowly pull away (in 4th gear) - no downshift!!.

I let off and tell him that was 4th.. he quiets down a little after that.

newer lightnings are pretty stout

I dont think this truck was that quick.

I had a lighting put a couple of trucks on me when i was in the daily driver (a gs400). After we got rolling the distance stayed about the same.

Lightnings are no joke. Last night at the track, there was a modified lightning running 11.8's all night. Its those d*mn superchargers, does anyone know what the factory boost is? When i get my new car, Im hoping to get a procharger for it, then ill go lightning hunting.

a lightning beat my vette by about 2 lengths awhile back. i got a terrible launch, though. he got a 2 length jump, and i couldnt make up the distance. he couldnt pull away from me either, so if i had a better launch, we would have been door to door. dont under estimate those trucks.

CWIROC isn't your daily driver running some where around low/mid 11's? I figure with the paxton running 12 psi, low 11's may be a slow estimate...how fast does it run? I would hope you would beat a Lightning!

ive been told with the lightnings that the factory supercharger is kinda umm well crap. and dont have alot of boost but ive seen most people take off the factor to replace it with sumthing better and thats where they get the better proformence

Stock s/c on the lightning makes 6 psi and won't flow enough air to make much more than 450-500 hp. Kenne Bell makes a replacement that will flow enough to make 650+ horsepower though.

Ya i smoked him good but my as i have said i am pretty sure i am in 11s, got SC for christmas so haven't had a chance to goto track to do time. It was a quick race. The warning i was putting out there was those trucks are still pretty quick and dont underestimate them.

My first time at the track, I got raped by a truck. This is back when I had the crappy LG4 so that made it worse. It was an old mid 60s chevy pickup. Grey primer, clean body and interior, smallblock chevy, really quiet, only a slight rumble. Ultimate sleeper. Talked with the guy and then lined up to run. I figured he was probably runnign 15s or 14s, but wanted to run him anyway. We line up, lights go yellow, and then BAM. All I saw was taillights. He clicked off a 9 FREAKIN 80 to my lousy 17.10. Noone expected that he was that fast. Since that track is REALLY country and there is no tech inspection they let him keep running all night.
